My Girls..
Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you're having a great day. I'm still feeling poorly, but I wanted to make some little treats for my Awana girls to give out tonight. If you're not familiar with Awana, I like to cal lit a cross between Girl Scouts and Bible Drill. The girls (and boys) ages 3 - 6th grade come and learn Bible Verses, play games, have group time...it's just a really great time. Ava is in her last year (womp womp) and she's thoroughly enjoyed it. I've taught her class - the same group of girls - since they were in first grade. It'll be hard next year and I haven't decided whether I am going to follow them to the Youth Group or not. :)
Anyway, so I saw what Debby made today and thought that would be perfect for the girls. Hers are fancier than mine, but I like the way mine came out. ;)
I used this week's Curtain Call Challenge colors:
Here are my treat bags:
If you look closely, you'll see that some of them have "flaps". I decided to not to cut the card stock down to 9 inches on those and just scored it again at 2 inches to make that part. I thought it made a kinda different look that I liked. :) I also used lots of Stampin' Up Rub-on's that I got from my Secret Sister over on Splitcoaststampers. I had absolutely no rub ons before and let me tell you - I adore them! They are so easy to put on and look just as sweet as pie! The rub ons are the balloons, clouds, "love you", and "xoxo"...aren't they neat?
Well, that's all for me. I'm going back to sleep. Thanks for stopping by. Laters!
Stamps: Love Birds (papertrey)
Card Stock: Kraft, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler(su); Vanilla,White (papertrey)
Ink: Cherry Cobbler (su); Vintage Vanilla (papertrey)
Extras: Twine (The Twinery); Buttons, ricrac die, twine, grosgrain ribbon, eyelet border die (papertrey); Rub On's (su)

Countdown...
So, I had this wonderful idea in my head for a card using Papertrey's new Numbers die. I'm not quite sure the execution was as flawless as the idea..lol.
I'm not sure if it even makes SENSE. I was thinking about a countdown and then thought about that in regards to a baby's birth. Ok, so here is my card:
So, you see I was thinking "5,4,3,2,1...Welcome to the World!! Am I the only one who thinks that's kinda funny? Hmm..maybe so..lol
I used this weeks lovely Color Throwdown colors of Blushing Bride, pear Pizazz, and Kraft.
Does the card make sense? Do you see what I was trying to do? I asked Ava what she thought and she said "Is it Happy New Year?"...wow. LOL. I still like it, though, even if I do have to explain it to the recipient. :)
Well, we're going to get passports today (don't ask why we waited so long cause it's a long, boring, bureaucratic red taped infused story..), so off I go to venture out into the land of the living. Thanks for stopping by! Laters...
Stamps: A New Little Someone (su); Night Night Moon (papertrey)
Card Stock: Kraft, Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery (su); White (papertrey)
Ink: Certainly Celery, Blushing Bride, Basic Brown (su); Copics
Extras: Numbers die, button (papertrey); Stickles, Scortape and glitter; Twine (The Twinery); Sqaure Lattice folder (su)

My Top Ten...
Hi everyone! Wow...has it really been almost a month since my last post? December truly got away from me for so many different reasons. I didn't really get back into stamping until March or so of 2010, and since hubby was home it was "easy" for me to just stamp everyday and still feel like the house was running smoothly. After he left, I found it next to impossible to feel like I had the time to stamp because there were other things that needed to get done. Being the only adult in the house meant I needed to be the one to do them..lol. After a week or so, it because more that I didn't have the "spark" to create anything...and fast forward to a month later and here we are. I miss it so much, so I thought I would participate in the Top Ten of 2010's I keep hearing about and hopefully that will spark something in me. I also cleaned my craft room today, so that should help also..lol.
Without further ado, here is my top ten cards of mine from 2010. Oh, and the links take you back to the original posts. :)

Welcome..
Hello everyone! Quick post today. Ava is having a sleepover tomorrow and i've got tons to do tonight. We're watching Twilight, then New Moon, and then heading to Walmart to wait in line for Eclipse tomorrow night and taking along a little friend of hers. This makes the third weekend in a row where I have been somewhere at midnight waiting on something to either see or buy! Goodness..when will I get my "in bed with a book by 10" Fridays back??? :)
I used this week's Color Throwdown challenge to make this little baby card. Here are this weeks colors:
I just love that Cuttlebug folder with the gift on it..just so perfect for baby cards. I also decided to criss cross my ribbon a bit and see how that looked..I kinda dig it. :)
Well, that's it. The one good thing about the sleepover tomorrow is that with Ava busy with her friend I will have a bit of crafting time! Yay me! Laters!
Stamps: Night, Night, Moon (papertrey)
Card Stock: Dark Chocolate (papertrey); Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue (stampin up)
Ink: Ballet Blue, Chocolate Chip (stampin up)
Extras: Cuttlebug folder; Ribbon (stampin up)

Shabby? Vintage?
Hello everyone! Today I have a card that I like. The "I" is italicized because not everyone in my house likes it. I showed it to my husband who promptly said, "well, other people will probably like it, but I don't". Nice. Thanks, honey! Way to get the self confidence up. Ugh. I was going for a shabby or vintage look. I have long seen other people pull off the look, but I haven't ever been able to before tonight. I'm not sure that's the way it looks, but that's what I was going for as I was making it. What do you think?
It's a short post tonight because we're having a Premier jewelry party here tomorrow night and I have not cleaned a thing..hee hee. Time to go clean, I guess. Talk to you guys tomorrow!
Oh wait!! I forgot about something!!! Today, I received a Cherry on Top Blog Award from Laurie over at Soapbox Creations! Can you believe that?!?
I was so excited! Thank you so much, Laurie. This means so very much to me. So, I am supposed to tell you guys something about myself. I'm sure if you have spent any time at all on my blog, you know that I am a serious Twilight Fan. I also love love love Harry Potter. I cannot WAIT for the movies to come out and I will be so so sad when the HP's are done next summer and then the Twilight series the following year. I just can't even think about it too long without being upset. I also love Fan Fiction. Some of the best things i have read out there have been fan fiction written by plain old people like me and you. Oh, and if you didn't already know this: I am a HUGE nerd! :)
I'm also supposed to show a picture. Here is one of me, Aaron, and Ava:

Not my favorite, but we don't take a lot of pictures for some reason. :)
Now, I want to pass this award on to 5 amazing bloggers:
Debby @ Lime Doodle: I just started visiting her blog a couple of weeks ago, but she always has really cool stuff. I love her style.
Kara @ KandRDesigns: She has totally fabulous stuff and is always thinking outside the box.
Julie @ Stamps & Taxes: I've said it before and i'll say it again, she is super talented and such a sweet person.
Nerina @ Nerina's Serendipity: She has a great, classic style. Always has very beautiful designs.
and last but not least
Michele @ I Am Derby: I love the fun style of her cards...they make me smile just seeing them.
I had a really hard time making my list down to 5 bloggers. There truly is so much amazing work out there by some really talented people.
Ok, I REALLY have to go now. Gotta clean up! I may not have a post tomorrow since i'll have guests, but i'll try! :)
