CAS-ual day

Hey there! Thanks for stopping in. I haven't played with the CAS-ual Friday challenges in forever, but this week I knew as soon as I saw the challenge what I was going to do! The challenge this week was to use embossing on your project.

I decided to use my SU Flower Garden embossing folder to create the embossing for my card.

I haven't decided whether this is a wedding or birthday card. I guess it could be either, right? :)

Well, that's it for me today. Have a great day!

CAS-ual thanks..

Hello and Happy Saturday to ya! Thanks for all of the birthday wishes yesterday. It was overall a good day. I got my ticket to the Papertrey Retreat in July, got my hotel reserved, had cupcakes from Gigi's, and hung out with Ava and my Mom.

Today, I have a card I made for this week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge which was to use color block. Ok, so this challenge is the one every week that TOTALLY makes me pull my hair out because I am such an overdoer on my cards sometimes. The patterned paper, the ribbon, the buttons..I love all of those little things and they just don't work (for me) on CAS cards cause i'd have 20 on there instead of 2...lol. This week, though, I think I achieved the CAS look that has alluded me these last few weeks. I absolutely adore this card (can I say that??)

These colors are just so fabulous together. I love the combination so much. I got it from a Louis Vuitton bag that I love. Let me tell you, though. When I first made this card, it had clear card stock covering the entire front because the inspiration bag was patent leather. It was so cute...until I tried to photograph that sucker. Ok, I did not realize that I could take 26 pictures of one card and still not come up with anything usable! The clear card stock acted as a mirror and in each picture you could either see me, the camera, the fireplace, the blinds..ugh..it was a nightmare. In the end, I decided to strip off the clear card stock and go au naturel with it...LOL.

Well, that's it from me. Hope you have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Thanks for the Lift..

Hola! Happy Monday!  I have another card for you today. I am - again -playing along with this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge. This week's challenge was a sketch by none other than Laura from 2Sketches 4You fame! Eek! I miss those challenges.
Anywho, here is the sketch:

And here is the CAS card I made:

I have had those Martha Stewart butterflies for a few weeks now and I thought today's challenge was perfect for them once I paired them with the sentiment from Up, Up, and Away.

Well, that's it from me. Enjoy the rest of your day!!!

Follow Your Own Star..

This is my second post for the day. Be sure and check out my MIM card from earlier! :)

This afternoon, I have a dual challenge card. I am really trying hard to get into these CAS cards. It gets easier every time actually - especially if I make one CAS and then one OTT (over the top..lol) in the same session.

This is a graduation card for the CAS-ual Fridays Graduation challenge

as well as for this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge:

We were to use the colors black and white with a splash of green.

This card is much more sparkly in real life. I used duct tape behind the starts to add the glitter. 1. because the duct tape happened to be sitting there and 2. because I am almost out of Scor-tape...lol.

This was a fun card to make. I am loving my MS glitter. So many pretty colors!

Well, that's it. Enjoy your day!

Great Job, Grad!

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you're enjoying the weekend so far. Today, I have a card for two challenges. The first is this weeks CAS-ual Friday challenge.

We were to create a card for graduation.  You know, i'm still struggling with the whole CAS thing. I think this isn't EXACTLY CAS, but it's getting there...lol. My love of patterned paper foils me every time. :)

The second challenge is the Embellish Magazine Text Color Trends Challenge

We were to use "text" somehow in our creation. That sounded fun, plus I also totally dig this color scheme. It's right up my alley. So, here is my card:

I obviously decided to go the "ransom note" route with the cut out pieces of newspaper...lol. I also used the map printed in the background to signify the opportunities that lie in the "real world" once you graduate from University.

Well, that's it for me today. I've got laundry to do, so I must bid you all adieu!! Have a super rest of the day!

For Mom...

Hi, and happy {early} Mother's Day to all you Moms, Mums, Mothers, and Mommies out there! I hope it is a wonderful day for you!

Today, I am sharing the card I made for my own lovely mom. She's super and the fact that she lives just 5 minutes away is - as I get older - really nice! :)

Here is a picture of her. It's one of my favorites actually:

Hi Mommy! Love you! :)

Isn't she just adorable? I just love her. Ok, so here is her card:

I got my new MFT stamps/dies that were reased this week called "Well Worn" and I LOVE it. The dies stack on top of each other - so so cool. The sentiment is, of course, the Verve set I've been using all week. It's really THE perfect Mother's Day set.

I used the sketch from this week's Card Patterns sketch, seen here:

AND I thought I would try my hand at the first CAS-ual Friday challenge which was to use text in our creation. I think my use of the SU French Script fits that bill, right? :)

Ok, well that's it from me. I hope that you guys all have a wonderful wonderful day tomorrow. Thanks for stopping by!
