Hi everyone! Thanks for coming by everyday. I can see you're looking..but why aren't you commenting? Hmm...lol. Anyway, today I am entering this card into this weeks Sketch For You to Try. Here is my card:
And here is this week's sketch:
Well, that's it for today. I'll probably see you again tomorrow. I'm so glad to be blogging again!
Hey there. Quick post. I have tennis elbow and got 2 cortisone shots yesterday. Needless to say , they hit a nerve so I was in CRAZY pain today. It's a wee bit better now, but i'm supposed to NOT type or craft (waaaaaa!!!!). I made this card earlier this month for the current SFYTT. Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:
Thanks for stopping in. Hopefully, I can get back to crafting soon...and typing and eating with my right hand..lol.
Happy Saturday! Well, not so much for me as of yet. I was cleaning the bathroom and somehow got Windex in my eyes. Ugh. I tried to flush them out, but they're still burning. :(
I did, however, manage to get this card completed before it was too bad. I was getting my card together and a sheet of Lucky Limeade got in the way, and I thought "wow, I like it!", so I kept it. Its a funky combination, right? I think it works, though.
Hi there! I have another card today using the soft blush/early espresso color scheme and the Bundle of Love set from Papertrey. I used this month's Sketch for You to Try, seen here:
And here is my card:
I just love the baby! She's just the cutest thing. I want to make many more cards with this set in different colors! Have a great day!
Hey there! Thanks for popping in! Today I have a card for this month's Sketch For You to Try. Oh, how I love seeing the new sketch each month on the first Saturday! Here is the sketch for June:
This month's sketch is sponsored by Stamping Bella. That reminded me that I haven't used my Bellas in forever!! It was fun coloring with them again. Here is my card using my favorite Bella, Gossipabella, and a sentiment that I use ALL of the time (in my everyday language) from the Verve set, Chicks Rule.
Here is my card:
Isn't she so cute? This also reminds me that I am using this card for the petite challenge over at Papertrey Posse. Debbie is our hostess for June and her 1st challenge for June to us was to make a card using a current trend.
Well, I have seen lots of chevrons around the stamping world lately, but also a lot of retro things...and this card has ALL of that. Fro the colors (brought to you from my grandmother's kitchen circa 1973..lol) to the little Afro on my soul sistah (chuckle!). So I am going to the retro trend. I'm actually hoping it REALLY takes off because I do love retro.
Well, i've talked enough. Thanks for dropping in on me and I hope you have a great Sunday! Laters..
Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I am in a total fog right now. I've been oddly sick the past few days and i'm in the midst of coming out of it or getting it again. Do you ever have those days? Did that sentence even make sense?LOL. Perhaps blogging while hopped up on meds isn't the best thing to do. I'll make this short to spare you any more of my nonsense.
I flipped the small circle to the top because it made more sense for MY card that way. Here it is:
Now, I know what you're thinking. "Wow, another card with the Papertrey number dies using some arbitrary number"...but NO..No, I actually KNOW someone who is turning 27 {um..edit: I just talked to his mom. He'll be 26. I have since changed the card..lol.}. I made this card for my cousin who has a birthday this week. This card is on the way to him.
I am not sure why I always go with grey when I am making a guy card. It's just the first color I think of when I am creating for men.
Ok, well I can feel some crazy talk about to come out of my typing, so I am going to stop here. Hopefully, i'll come out of this sooner rather than later.
Hello all! I'm here today with my card for the latest Verve Diva Dare!
Here is the challenge:
This month we dare you to make a card, project, layout, or whatever fits your stamping style using this month's theme -ColorMeSpring! Whether you are shoveling snow off of your sidewalks and only dreaming of warmer weather or you are already enjoying the first blooms of the season, this challenge is sure to put a spring in your step! How you interpret the challenge is up to you!
I am not normally a big user of pastels and springy colors, but I have to admit this was a fun fun fun card to make. I used my new Verve set, "Chick's Rule". It is just adorable!
This set has some of the cutest phrases in it! Perfect for little girls, teens, women, and even little boys if you use the "chicks dig me" sentiment..LOL.
Well, that's it. I hope you get to play along. There are prizes to be won!
Stamps: Chicks Rule (Verve) Card Stock: White (Papertrey); Cameo Coral, Old Olive (SU); Stella Rose by My Mind's Eye dsp Ink: Cameo Coral, Barely Banana, Old Olive (SU) Extras: Flowers (Glory Delightful Day by Prima)
Ok, let me go ahead and say that sometimes what comes out of my craft room is a direct result of my mood. Normally, I'm pretty even keeled, but last night? Ugh, last night was not one of those nights. It started off with Ava having friends over for her birthday. I took them to dinner and then to see "Beastly". It was a great movie, go see it. Well, great for what it was. It was no King's Speech or anything, but we liked it a lot. Kind of "Beauty and the Beast", kind of "Twilight". It's just a cool picture. I cried...once. Moving right along, though. So we get home and I realize I need to make this card. I decide (like always) to put on some music. This, my friends, is where I made my fatal error. I put on Adele's newest CD, "21". You have to understand that I love love love Adele. She's oh so fabulous, but she is NOT the person to craft to if you want any happiness at all to seep through. Seriously, the cd is awesome, but sad and heavy. So, all of that to say that this card reflects that. The quote (buy it here from AmberInk) has that Edward/Bella, old school poet kind of feel to it and I was immediately drawn to it. Once you see it and read the quote, you'll know what I mean. It's heavy, sad, and makes your heart hurt if you put YOUR Beloved in your head when you read it.
Ok, but enough of the heavy on a Saturday morning. I am using this month's Sketch For You To Try.
AmberInk is so excited to be the SFYTT Sponsor for March. We love Jen and her sketches! If you play along, you'll also have a shot at winning some goodies from the AmberInk Store...see Jen's Blog for all the details!
So, here is my heavy, lovelorn, tear-stained card....
I *think* hubby might be the best person for me to send this to..you think? lol
Well, that's it for me. The painters are here, so I better see how they're
progressing. I'll leave you with the first single from Adele's new CD. It's called "Rolling in the Deep. It's not too sad, but you'll see/hear how amazing her voice is. If you have iTunes, check her out and listen to her. She's fab!
Stamps: I am Tired, Beloved (AmberInk digi) Card Stock: Black, Pure Poppy (Papertrey); Circa 1934 dsp (Cosmo Cricket) Ink: none, just printer ink Extras: Bling (want2scrap); black grosgrain (Papertrey)
And also uses another of the Design Team favorites on Papertrey. In this case, it is the favorite of Heather Nichols.
Aren't those colors lovely? I needed to make a card for my Dad. His birthday is in a couple of weeks and these colors were perfect. So, here is my card:
I just got my order from Stamper's Dream in and I bought the Basic Grey Marjolaine papers. I just love love love them! Anyway, gotta run.."Criminal Minds" is on (and yes, I DO watch too much TV...lol)
Stamps: Through the Trees, Out on a LImb sentiments (papertrey) Card Stock: Kraft, Spring Rain (papertrey); Basic Grey Marjolain dsp (Stamper's Dream) Ink: Almost Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Versamark (su) Extras: Twine, wood buttons (papertrey)
Happy Sunday, everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful day. Tomorrow is back to work after an extended period off and I think I am actually looking forward to it! I love my boss and job, so it's easy to say that, though. :)
Today's card is for two challenges. The first is the Curtain Call Color Challenge. It challenges us to use these colors:
And here is what I came up with for these challenges:
It was kinda difficult to get the red in there, but I managed to. I hope you like it! Well, we start Awana back in 30 minutes, so I should probably get to church! Have a great rest of the day and I will see you tomorrow perhaps! :) Thanks for stopping by!
Hi there! Thanks for stopping in! I made a card today using this week's SFYTT. It was a real challenge trying to figure out what to put in the top panel, but I think it works this way.
First, the sketch:
And now my card..
I thought these colors were perfectly suited for a wedding. Love them together! I used Melon Berry (papertrey) and Early Espresso (su)..yum! I did not have Melon Berry ink, so I sponged Chocolate Chip on my little Labels 4 panel and then sponged over that with Pumpkin Pie..I think it blended well enough and works well with the Melon Berry.
I used the SU Vintage Wallpaper folder again. I think it really lends itself to wedding cards..so pretty.
Ok, well I hope you have a wonderful Thursday. Laters!
Stamps: Love of a Lifetime (Verve) Card Stock: Melon Berry, White (papertrey); Early Espresso (stampin up) Ink: Chocolate Chip, Pumpkin Pie (stampin up) Extras: Versamark, White embossing powder, Early Espresso ribbon, Vintage Wallpaper folder (stampin up)
Hello all! This is my second post today. Scroll down to see my Papertrey Blog Hop post!
Hope your Monday went well. Mine was nuts! First we woke up late, then Ava's bus did not come so we had to take her to school (we found out later that it has started coming 26 minutes earlier..oh, so that was the "bus" sound we heard..lol). That little route change then made me 30 minutes late for work. I got to work in time for all sorts of craziness begin. Aaron and I decided that we would go to Outback for lunch and were so excited and starving. Neither one of us was smart enough to make sure they were actually OPEN for lunch (they are not...), so we were stuck eating beans and hot dogs (don't ask..lol). To say that I was happy to get home is a total understatement! :)
I decided that I would play along with two challenges this week. The first one is the Curtain Call color challenge. I made their Top 5 Showstopper last week! That is always so exciting to see your creations chosen as a favorite, isn't it? Anywho, here are today's colors:
The second challenge is the SFYYT challenge. Here is this week's sketch:
Both are great, right? So here is my card:
For some reason the gray photographed really dark, but some of the stars are grey as well as the ricrac. :) Hope you like it. The whole image kinda creeps me out..lol.
Stamps: Heidi Swapp chandelier image; sentiment/bats - Rub on from the Target dollar spot
Card Stock: Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Black, Basic Grey, White
Hello all! I sure hope you have all had a great week. Mine has been good, so I cannot complain. Of course, even if I did who would really care? LOL
Today's card was SO much fun to make. My new MFT stamps came in the mail and I was so excited. I have been wanting this cute little chica for weeks, but just bought her. She reminds me SO much of my daughter, Ava. She is ALWAYS on her iPhone. Sometimes I think it is literally attached to the child. Always listening to either 80's music, Glee stuff, AC/DC, Taylor Swift, or her Avril Lavigne/ Adam Lambert compilation. She is such a musically all over the place child...just like her mama! :) So anyway, this card is for her. I just love that little girl.
The color scheme came from this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge. They are celebrating their one year anniversary and they'll have posts each day through the 26th. You should check it out. Every week they have really great color combos to try. Here is this weeks color challenge:
So pretty, huh? Head on over there and see what's going on. It's always a blast!
In addition to using the PDCC for my colors, I also used the sketch from this week's SFYTT. Here is the sketch:
And here is my card:
Isn't she the cutest little thing?? Just love that she is more of a preteen than my other PI stamps (which I also love...lol). This card also gave me a chance to use my Skipping Stones "Timeless Textures" set again. It is the musical background on the white paper. Yep, that's a stamp. I had totally forgotten there was a musical background in there! It's so great cause you can totally change up the look of a card with this stamp in various colors, you know? Cool beans.
Well, that's it for today. Time to get ready for the weekend! Anyone got big plans?
Stamps: Tweeny Rock (My Favorite Things); Signature Greetings (papertrey); Timeless Textures (Skipping Stones) Card Stock: Lemon Tart, White (papertrey); Peach Parfait, Cameo Coral (stampin up) Ink: Peach Parfait, Cameo Coral, Barely Banana, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa (stampin up); Memento Black Extras: Buttons, ricrac die, twine, and Lemon Tart grosgrain (papertrey); Labels 14
Ahh, Saturday! Don't you just love them? College Football and warm apple cider! Ack! I just love Fall. I made today's card VERY last minute. It's for both this week's Color Throwdown and the SFYTT from last week. This is my first time playing along with the Throwdown. I've seen others play, and when I saw the colors I was inspired. I used to love Perfect Plum so much years ago, but I have not used it a lot lately. I really like it with the Early Espresso, too. Great combo! Here is the sketch:
And here are the colors from the throwdown:
So, without further ado (as per my normal..lol), here is my card:
Such a fun card to make. Love those PTI butterflies with the Verve sentiment. See, we CAN all get along. :)
Well, College GameDay is back on, so I am off to start my football Saturday. Thanks for dropping by!

Hi everyone! It's finally Friday! I'm so glad. Today's card is for The Play Date Cafe challenge for this week. Here is the challenge pic:
And here is my card:
The button is really closer to the color of the card stock, but it doesn't show that way on here. I really love this image. I bought it a couple of months ago from I have no idea where. I bought it online, so if any of you know PLEASE tell me. Ugh..I can't believe I cannot remember where I got that stamp. I also used the sketch from this week's Sketch For You To Try. This was my first time playing along, though I see the sketches a ton as I peruse other's sites. Here is this weeks sketch:
Anywho, so that's it from me. Play along with us over at The Play Date challenge - it is so much fun every week. I'm scheduling a couple of blog posts over the weekend because we're headed out of town to visit with my grandmother. They're saying it's just a matter of time because she has had mini strokes after the one earlier this week and she is not stabilized. :( Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks y'all! Have a great weekend....
