Learning to Dance..
Hello and Happy Sunday to ya! I hope you've had a great weekend. Mine has been pretty uneventful. And that's completely A-ok with me! :)
Today's card uses the Week 2 Verve sketch. I am far behind on getting the sketches done. My mojo has been a little wonky this week. I've made a ton of cards, but don't really like most of them. I have 4 that need to be posted, but something about each of them just isn't doing it for me. Does that ever happen to you guys? Weird.
Anyway, so here is the sketch:
And here is the card I made using it:
I was inspired to use my Greenhouse Gala patterned paper (SU) after seeing Stacey's card last night. I love the way each sheet of this paper is so rich and beautiful.
Well, that's all I have. Have a wonderful day and i'll "see" you soon! Laters...

A Man's Heart
Hey there! Having a great week? I hope so. Today's card is for a dear friend of mine. He's going through some things and I want to send a little love through the mail. :)
He is a golfer and this paper TOTALLY seemed so very "Golf" to me, so I decided to go with it. It's Cosmo Cricket's Social Club. As soon as I saw the Verve sketch for this week, I knew I would be using this paper. All of those patterns are so cool to me and in this sketch, I thought they would work perfectly!
Here is the Verve April Week 4 sketch:
And here is my card:
Isn't it fun? I am not so much a fan of a ton of patterns, but I like it here.
Well, I've got to get out of here and get ready for work! Thank you for stopping by!
Don't forget to play along with my contest. It ends Friday! Check it out HERE!

Mod Hello...
Hey there! Thanks for stopping by! Today, I have a quick post with a card I made using the Verve Week 2 sketch for April. All of the sketches have been so fabulous this month. I really liked the feel of this sketch and thought it would be perfectly suited with my new Papertrey Think Big Favorites set. I also used a little of the Grunge Me set under the sentiment.
Here is the week 2 sketch created by Andrew Ewen:
And here is my mod card:
I just really like those colors together and he paper, I thought, was perfect for the look I was trying to achieve.
Well, that's all for me. I better run! Don't forget, the contest for my blogaversary is still up and running! Check it out HERE!

You Rock, Chica!
Good morning! You know what I just realized? Tomorrow is my blogaversary! Yikes..I had planned to DO something, so I guess I better start thinking of something, huh? Haha...
Well, anyway, today's card uses the week 3 Verve sketch for April (I'm a little behind..lol). I know it may seem like a bit of a stretch, but aren't sketches supposed to inspire and you just take it from there? No? Hmm..well, just pretend that's the way it is. :) I do think that I have the gist of the sketch even if I did take a few liberties. :)
Here is the week 3 sketch:
And here is my card:
I used the new set from Papertrey called Rock On. It's techinically a boy stamp, but I know lots of girls who rock so I bought it. I love the way it turned out. Such a fun set and I love those little dies!
Well, thatnks for stopping by! Be sure and come back tomorrow for a last minute blogaversary post! :)

Hope is the thing with Feathers...
Hi everyone! Ahh, I have so missed stamping the last few days. All of my posts last week were scheduled because my mom was having surgery and staying with us while she recovers some so this weekend was SO busy!! Her surgery went fine and she is ready to go home..lol..but I think that's because I will not do what she says! haha...
Anyway, today's card features this month's first Verve sketch for April. The sketch is brought to us by Amber Hight. It has so many cool little panels...so much fun to use!
I am also using the color scheme from this week's CR84FN challenge.
I love these colors together. They're so woodsy to me. I decided not to go with a masculine card because I wanted to use my newest Verve Plain Jane, "Hope Perches". Emily Dickinson is my all time favorite poet, so as soon as I saw they were releasing this I knew that I had to have it. The entire poem is lovely.
So, here is my card:
I just love this card for all of the panels. This was a great sketch. It was fun to use the different papers and textures with this. I added the Papertrey images of the birdcage and bird from "Love Birds". I thought it went perfectly with the Verve sentiment.
Last week, I got a great little surprise in the mail from my friend, Teresa. She sent me a package full of goodies...brads and bling, papers, fabrics, seam binding..just tons of way cool stuff. She is SO very sweet! The brad on the ribbon and the floral paper are both from my gift! :)
Well, that's it from me. I will leave you guys with the "Hope is the thing with Feathers" poem in its entirety! :) Thanks for stopping by!
Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,
And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.
I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.
Stamps: Hope Perches PJ (Verve); LoveBirds (Papertrey)
Card Stock: Early Espresso, Old Olive, Kraft (SU); Floral (unknown)
Ink: Old Olive, Chocolate Chip, White EP (SU)
Extras: Old Olive grosgrain (SU); Pearls (want2scrap); Woodgrain IP (Papertrey)

Gratitude...
Hello! Thanks for stopping by this fine Monday! It's a tad chilly here, and I am ready for Spring, but a grande White Chocolate Mocha with a shot of Peppermint is in my immediate future so i'll deal. :)
Today I have another card from this month's Verve sketches. This is the week 5 sketch and it was designed by Sankari!!
I couldn't help but use my new Papertrey stamps. I just love the Sending You set. As you know, I am all about the sentiments, but the flowers in this set are what really grabbed me and pulled me in. Here is my card:
I used more of my Salt Air paper from Cosmo Cricket and I love the way the black works with this kinda funky green and cream color.
Well, that's it from me. Thank you for stopping by!
Stamps: Sending You (papertrey)
Card Stock: Blac, Fine Linen (Papertrey); Salt Air (Cosmo Cricket)
Ink: Black, Sage Shadow (SU)
Extras: Satin/bling ribbon (Michael's); bling (want2scrap)

So Blessed...
Good morning everyone! I hope you guys have had a great weekend! I have pretty much rested and recouped from vacation, and I'm just about ready to head back to work tomorrow. :)
Today, I am using the week 4 Verve sketch for March. Jackie created the sketch and I love love love it. Feeds right into my square card obsession. Here is the sketch:
I needed a thank you card and wanted it to be a little funky for the recipient, so here is what I made:
Honestly, I adore these Cosmo Cricket papers. I do , I do, I do! This one is called Salt Air and it has bunches of cool patterns and colors. I thought this paper used a wonderfully bright, but funky, combo! I don't know that I would WEAR these colors together, but I sure do like looking at them. :)
Thanks for stopping by and if you get a chance, stop over and play with the Verve sketches!
Stamps: Just for You and Great Friend (Verve)

Ink: Really Rust, Chocolate Chip (SU)
Extras: Melon Berry grosgrain (papertrey); Brown pearl (pizzazz-a-plenty); Labels 14

Courage..fyi
hello! I hope you are having a wonderful weekend and that it is nice where you are. We had temps here in Nashville in the mid 70's yesterday and, though we spent the whole day in the Twilight convention, it was so so nice to have some official Spring weather! Not sure how long it will last and I always think it's funny to see people with flip flops on the first chance they get! I love flip flops, don't you?
Today's card uses this weeks Verve sketch by Maureen. It has a tilted panel, which I love, and room for a flower. I just LOVE flowers. In real life, not so much but as embellishments I am addicted to them. Here is Maureen's sketch:
I also found out about a NEW sketch challenge called "FYI". Teresa Kline is the Guest Designer this month, so I had to play along! This week is their very first one so go over and play along! Here is the GORGEOUS inspiration picture:
Are those towers not gorgeous?!?! Wow. I love this picture! So, combining those two challenges, I came up with this card:
I wanted to pull the pink from the sky, the shimmer from the buildings, and the bead-like quality of the tower base. I think I captured everything I wanted to capture here. This was a fun challenge and I cannot wait to play again! I hope you guys will check it out. I love challenges and it's always fun to find new ones!
Have a happy Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!!

A Cheerful Friend..
Hi everyone. Quick post today as I am still sickly. Thanks for all of your "get well" messages. That warms my heart! :)
Today's card uses this week's fabulous Verve sketch. This weeks sketch is brought to us by the uber talented, Charmaine. Here is her sketch:
I really thought it would be easy to pull off, but it wasn't. I don't think I have developed the knack for mixing patterned papers as much as I would like to and I'm not quite sure it worked here. Ah well, I do love the fun cheeriness of it, so that's something. :) I also love that little button that i've had, and wanted to use, forever. I have several of them. They're like jean buttons and they're kinda decorative and cute, but I don't remember where I got them! Ugh!!
Anywho, here is my card:
That's all I have for today. I hope you guys have a great Friday! We have the Twilight Convention here this weekend, so I simply MUST feel better.
I can't stalk Peter Facinelli with a cold now can I? I mean, look at this face:
Wow. Ok..lol..well, that's all from me. Thanks for stopping by!
Stamps: Text Objects (Verve)

Blue Skies...
Hello everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday. It's simply beautiful in TN today! After the strong winds we had on Thursday night (we spent the majority of the night in a closet under the stairs a la Harry Potter!), we really needed this kind of day.
My card today uses the first sketch of the Viva la Verve sketches for March. These sketches are my absolute favorite. I look forward, every Friday, to seeing what the Verve Divas (in this case, Amber Hight) have come up with for us..and they never disappoint. Here is this weeks' sketch:
Isn't it wonderful? As soon as I saw it, I knew what card I wanted to make. Don't you love when an idea comes to you as soon as you see something and then when the final product looks exactly like you pictured it? I sure do! Here is my card:
The notebook paper may be a bit too distressed, huh? Maybe so...I have a heavy hand sometimes..lol. Well, enjoy the rest of your Saturday and if you get a chance, please stop by the Verve section of Splitcoast and play along with the challenges!

Birthday Wishes...
Hey guys! I'm a busy bee today. Check out my other post for the day...I shared some exciting news!!
I am back with the last of the Verve sketches for the month of February. There have been some really great sketches this month, no? Here is the last sketch of the month:
I decided to make a birthday card for one of my best guy friends in the world - Gregg. He and Ava share a birthday. Here is my card:
How about that Mat Stack 4 stamp set from Papertrey? Doesn't that herringbone print on the label just scream "sophisticated man"? Ooh..I just love it! The Mat Stack 4 and coordinating stamps will definitely be getting a lot of action around here. Throw on those wooden buttons and I am just in love. :)
Did you notice that glen plaid paper? It's from AmberInk and it's digital! I just adore it and I feel like I have been looking for this style of paper for years..lol. I love plaid and this paper, as soon as I saw it, called my name. :) I will be using this a LOT! You can get it here!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Where there is love...
Good Day, everyone! I'm glad you stopped by. We've got temps in the 50's and 60's this week in TN, and as much as I am a Winter soul, I am pining for Spring this year. I've got Spring on the brain in a major way. I'm even enjoying hearing a few birds outside my window in the morning - well, for now anyway. :)
Today I am using the third of this month's Verve Sketches. This one is SO cool. I just love the tilted panel because it adds so much visual interest. Here is this weeks sketch:
My brain immediately went to my Basic Grey Marjolaine papers. I just love the colors in this pack. Beautiful Blues, Great Greens...just yum!
So, here is the card that was born from all of this Spring fever (not unlike my Beiber fever, but that's another matter altogether...haha!):
What do you think? Oh, I've also started not messing with my photos as much. Do they look better without the white "cloud" around them and not "softened"? I'm debating, but I think they do look better in their "natural" state.
Oh!! One more thing..I am coming up on my 200th post soon and I'm going to be having a contest or giveaway of sorts. Stay tuned for that. It should happen sometime this week!

Twinkle, Twinkle..
Hello everyone! Wow..I have been stamping like crazy lately. Dd you notice I had two posts yesterday? Yikes! Today's card is Verve-licious! :) I am playing along with their Baby Love challenge and also using the first sketch of February for my layout. Check out the challenges here:
Verve Sketch Feb Week 1:
And click here for more info on the Baby Love challenge (be quick because it ends today!)
So, here is the card I made:
I know, I know - another card with yellow. Obviously, I like it now. I feel like Squidward after so many times saying he hated Krabby Patties and then he tasted one..lol. Did you guys see that episode? I LOVE SpongeBob's face when he figures it out. Anyway, so I really like this sketch. I decided to use the stars as the panels instead because I love those stars. Plus, they went along with the awesome sentiment.
Well, that's it for me. Off to stamp more and then watch more Harry Potter and Twilight. Our lives are so fun...LOL.

Bottles & Booties...
Hi everyone. Happy Sunday to you! I hope you guys have had a great weekend. One more day to go. Yay! Are you guys off work tomorrow? I am, and I totally need that day! This has been a great weekend for me, but not for my diet. I have gone out to eat twice. I had appetizers, short ribs, potatoes, desserts, and anything in between! Ha! It was my mom's birthday, though, so it was worth it. I'll just have to get back on track Tuesday. Yes, I skipped Monday - what of it? lol
Anywho, so today's card is for two challenges! The first one is this weeks Play Date Cafe challenge. Here are the challenge colors:
Is that not a great sketch? Wow..I love it. Now, when I put these two things together and combined it with my recent baby kick, I came up with this little beauty:
Do you love it? I sure do..lol. The colors were just perfect together and the sketch was so much fun to use. Look at little Emery elephant (from Verve). Is he not the cutest thing? I saw on Julee's blog last week, that she used something called "Flower Soft" on her card. I wasn't sure what it was so I googled and realized that it seemed kinda like furry stuff (don't you love my college educated descriptive phrases??LOL). Well, on Friday I was in Michael's and saw some Martha Stewart Flocking Powder! It was just what I needed. I bought the pewter and the brown in case some teddy bears needed a little loving..lol.It was so easy to apply and this little guy is soft and furry in person. :)
Well, that's it from me. Come back tomorrow for another creation! Thanks for stopping by!
Stamps: Emery Elephant plain jane (Verve); A New Little Someone (SU)

Super sweet, right? I love the way they work together..really soft color combo!
