Smallest Things - CTD #348

Hi everyone! Well, I suppose the stamping bug has gotten to me again cause here I am. Life has been so hectic and we have had lots going on, but it's time for me to get back to something that makes me happy. A little Me time.

Anyway, today I am playing along with Color Throwdown #348.

That's such a really cute color scheme that I thought would be perfect for a baby card. I used a couple of Verve Stamp's Plain Janes - Emery (the sweet elephant) and Smallest Things (sentiment). I also grabbed some old SU Designer paper that I had lying around.

So, I hope you like it! I am hoping to clean out my craft room tomorrow because - as you can see from my pic - it is at that stage where I have no idea what I actually OWN because there is just so much stuff...lol.

Thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Wishes

Hey you guys! Thanks for stopping in. I know I had a card for the Retro Sketches already today, but here I am again with another. I love the sketch. I love sketch challenges! I'm also playing along with this week's Curtain Call challenge and this week's Color Throwdown. Take a look at these colors for Curtain Cal and then for Color Throwdown.

Aren't they beautiful ?This card is for a very good friend whose birthday totally slipped my mind. It was the day Ava and I went to the Ed Sheeran concert, but that's no excuse, right? So, I'm ending the card along with a Starbucks gift card as a peace offering. Maybe I'll get invited out for coffee! haha.

So, here is the card and then the sketch:

I finally got some of the little sequins from Stampin' Up! and used some of those:

Aren't they just adorable? I must get more of these.

Anyway, so here is the sketch:

Well, that's all I have for today. Thanks for stopping in!

Verve September Sketch 1

Hi All! It's been so long since I have played along with the ladies over at Verve for the weekly sketches they have. This is the Viva la Verve week one sketch. They have some of the best sketches around, I think. Here is my card for the week one sketch. I started off using the sketch along with the color pallet, but it sorta got away from me so I ended up using the color pallet more than the sketch. They also have an inspiration picture with lots of sweets. See...

Here is the sketch..

Thanks for stopping in today. I appreciate that! :)

Anniversary Wishes..

Hi everyone! It's Monday and time for the Mojo Monday challenge. I love these because they make me think outside of my little sketch box. I used some stamps that ordered from Verve n Friday - and they came today. Seriously...are you kidding me? I have never had that kind of turn around on anything I bought. Anyway, the sets I bought were On Occasion and Poppy Birthday along with the matching dies. great stamps. Anyway, I wanted to make a card that was a little different. Something maybe a little rustic or just quirky. Either way, this is the card that came out:

I just think it's a little different. I had really been wanting to use that "wooden" paper., but never really had anything to match. I matched it with the SU Strawberry Slush and loved it.

Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch, by the way!

Thanks for stopping in!!

And here is this weeks sketch!

Thought of you today....

Happy Saturday everyone! We have the county fair in town, so we went last night and had a great time. Fair food = yum! :)

Today, I have another card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches. I just love the sketch. I used some great designer paper I found in a stash I have had for a couple of years. It matched perfectly with the SU Strawberry Slush (which may just be my favorite color ever!) and the PapertreyInk Lemon Tart - another favorite. I just adore this card. The sentiment is also from SU. The butterfly is an older Verve die. Anyway, here is my card:

And here, again, is the sketch:

Well, that's that. I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

A little birdie..

Hey there! Hope you're having a good week. I have an interview today for a job, so I am excited/nervous about that. Wish me luck!

Anyhow, I made this card for Lori Tecler who is starting to teach Kindergarten this year. How exciting. I have always thought it would be fun to teach Kindergarten or first grade. So, here is my card..

I used the latest Mojo Monday challenge

and the latest Color Throwdown challenge

I just love these colors together and the sketch was perfect because I wanted to add a little gift to the card. The seed packet die was perfect for that. It seems to work better for me than the regular gift card die. The sentiment is from the Verve set Chicks Rule. I love that little set!

Well, that's all I have today. Be sure and stop by the Color Throwdown AND Mojo Monday to participate in the challenges. There is still lots of time left.

Thanks for stopping by!

baby baby

No, this isn't a Justin Bieber themed post (though he will be in Nashville this weekend!!), I just couldn't think of a better title for my little creation...lol.

I am playing along with the CR84FN challenge this week and the colors are so gorgeous. I could work with this combo for days and not tire of it.

I decided to make a baby card for a friend who's having a little boy soon! I just love this little elephant from Verve!

A really simple card! Hope you're all having a great day!

Cool Chick!

Is the weekend gone already? Really? Ah well, another day another nickel..lol

Today, I am playing along with Color Throwdown.

I could NOT get Easter and spring out of my head when looking at these colors, so that's sort of the direction I went. I used one of my cute Verve sets, Chicks Rule, and made a sweet little pastel number.

I think it's completely outside of my realm when it comes to colors. I find myself drawn to neutrals, but this was really fun to make. I haven't used Almost Amethyst in, I know, 4 years..lol. Anyhow, play along if you can..you have until Tuesday, I think.

Simply Fabulous

Hey ladies! Thanks for stopping by. I'm so excited for this card.  I just love the way it turned out..just like I pictured in my head.  Don't you love when that happens?

I am playing along with a challenge that I've not ever played. It's called Retro Sketches. This weeks sketch  is just adorable and its from a card that Kasia made last year.  Here is the sketch:

And here is what I did with it.

And yes, once again I am playing with the "u" from Verve. I really like how this card came out. Hope you do,too! Laters..

Without You

Happy Monday everyone! Did you have a great weekend? Mine consisted of a wee bit of partying a people watching followed up with a late night trip to Waffle House...yum.

Today I am playing along with the ladies over at Colour Q. The challenge was to pick any f the designers chose as their favorite and create a card with it. Of course I went for the more subtle colors and chose Silke's favorite:

I decided to make a little missing you card. I love love love the 'U' from the Verve set "You & I". It's really a fun set and I love the die cuts that go along with it.

Here is my card:

It was a really fun card to make. The colors are just so right for each other.  Well, I'm off. Take care! Laters..

go confidently..

Hey guys! I'm back today with this week's FYI challenge. I didn't get to participate last time, so I was itching to get back to playing with the rest of the ladies. They have some FABULOUS cards to share, so be sure and hit everyone else's blogs!

Here is our inspiration photo for this week:

Isn't that just gorgeous?? Stephanie picks out THE most beautiful pictures for us to use. This picture made me think of episode of Andy Griffith (one of my favorite shows) where Howard Sprague sees a commercial and decides that he is going to throw caution to the wind and move to a Caribbean island. It doesn't turn out quite like he expected, but the fact that he actually DID it was always cool to me. He at least TRIED it, ya know? I'm not sure there is enough of that these days. ANYWAY...sorry for that ramble..lol. Here is my card:

Thanks for stopping in!

U are sweet

Is it really Monday already? Ugh...this weekend went by way too fast!

On Saturday, I was perusing blogs and came across a post on Teresa Kline's blog for a challenge called Friday Mashup. Wow..they have some really cute challenges, and this week's was to "mash up" cupcakes and buttons (or use one of them) in your project!

I decided to play along and make a card full of sugary sweetness! :)

I found some great MME paper in my stash and it was the basis for the rest of my card. Here you go:

Isn't that paper adorable? I also pulled out my new Verve "U" die and mixed it with a little Papertrey "Wonderful Words". The cupcake and cherries are from a set I bought eons ago from Lawn Fawn called "Bake Me a Cake".

This was such a fun challenge. I can't wait to play again. Check it out of you haven't seen it yet!

love u

Ah, finally the weekend! I hope you guys have all had a great week. Today, I have a card that I made using this week's Color Throwdown challenge colors!

Is Early Espresso not the best brown out there? Oh, I just love it so. :)

I decided to make a card that decidedly simpler than my normal, but I think it turned out really well...pretty much just as I had imagined.

I used my new Verve stamp set, You & I, along with the matching die. Oh. I really can see me using this set a ton. I love it and, of course, the font is awesome. Take a look at the entire set here.  I just adore it!

I also used the new Loopy Blooms Verve die. That flower is just so different and cute, no? You can see it here. :)

 Thanks for stopping in!

Is that not SO beautiful? Oh, I just love it. The water looks perfect and the sky is brilliant.

I was inspired mostly by the wavy nature of the building and the main colors of blue and orange. Here is the card I made:
