Girly, You Rock...

Hello all! I sure hope you have all had a great week. Mine has been good, so I cannot complain. Of course, even if I did who would really care? LOL

Today's card was SO much fun to make. My new MFT stamps came in the mail and I was so excited. I have been wanting this cute little chica for weeks, but just bought her. She reminds me SO much of my daughter, Ava. She is ALWAYS on her iPhone. Sometimes I think it is literally attached to the child. Always listening to either 80's music, Glee stuff, AC/DC, Taylor Swift, or her Avril Lavigne/ Adam Lambert compilation. She is such a musically all over the place child...just like her mama! :) So anyway, this card is for her. I just love that little girl.

The color scheme came from this weeks Play Date Cafe Challenge. They are celebrating their one year anniversary and they'll have posts each day through the 26th. You should check it out. Every week they have really great color combos to try. Here is this weeks color challenge:

So pretty, huh? Head on over there and see what's going on. It's always a blast!

In addition to using the PDCC for my colors, I also used the sketch from this week's  SFYTT. Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

Isn't she the cutest little thing?? Just love that she is more of a preteen than my other PI stamps (which I also love...lol). This card also gave me a chance to use my Skipping Stones "Timeless Textures" set again. It is the musical background on the white paper. Yep, that's a stamp. I had totally forgotten there was a musical background in there! It's so great cause you can totally change up the look of a card with this stamp in various colors, you know? Cool beans.

Well, that's it for today. Time to get ready for the weekend! Anyone got big plans?

Innocence Lost....

Happy Tuesday! I'm just going to go ahead and say how fun this card was to make! I have never made a Halloween card! We aren't anti-Halloween, but Ava is 11 now (and thinks she's too old) and even when she was younger, we always went to church for Fall Festival so a lot of the "scary" in Halloween was lost on me after I grew up. I can remember back then Halloween being all about the scare factor. It seems different to me now..maybe it's not, but it feels that way. :(

So anyway, I was on Ted's Blog the other day and he issued a challenge. If you email him with the subject line "Trick or Treat, Ted?", he will email you back and say either Trick (which means your card has to use non traditional Halloween colors) or Treat (which means you can use traditional). Thankfully, I got treat! Whew. Well, as it is I have no Halloween stamps and since I won't be making any Halloween cards, I didn't want to buy any. I saw lots of crafty stuff at the Target Dollar Spot this weekend and in that bin was a pack of rub ons that I thought would be perfect! Then today while sitting at my desk, the thought came into my head to use the Pure Innocence Happy Mail girl as a mass (or not so mass) murderer (I watch too much Criminal Minds and Fringe, people!!) and so I printed out the axe from Microsoft Word Clip Art and shrunk it down to the size where I thought it should be and boy I could not WAIT to get home!! I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, too, but I flipped it!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

So...what do you think?? I'm anxious to know! :) The only stamp is the girl. The tree, "rip", bat, moon, and hat are all from the rub on pack and there is still lots more so who knows..maybe y'all will see another Halloween card after all! Laters!

ETA: The die at the top of the orange panel is the PTI Mat Stack 4 die. I just put it at the end of the paper and only ran that little bit through the Cuttlebug instead of the entire sheet. :)

Card Stock: White, Black, Orange, and Bitty dots (papertrey)

Birthday Girl!

Hello everyone. Here is another card using my Pure Innocence girl. Fun stuff! This time I omitted the mailbox and the letters and added a balloon and sentiment from the Verve set "Birthday Bash". Her shoes are also glittery with Cotton Candy stickles. It's for the Off the Wall Craftiness challenge this week. Here are the colors:

And here is my card:

It was a fun card to make. I love the little swirlies and the balloon is just the right size for her! I wonder what else she could hold? Hmm...ok, well I hope you have a great rest of the day. Later!

It'll be okay...

Hi everyone! It's finally Thursday! One more day till the weekend.  I'm excited about this weekend because we're going to a meeting with the folks from People to People about Ava going to London and France next summer for a few weeks. She LOVES London and all things British, so she is stoked about going. We're "hoping" it's not going to be too awful expensive, but either way she's going! LOL

Ok, so on to today's card. I used Mercy's Sketch seen here:

And here is my interpretation:

What do you think? I think the yellow adds a nice something to the card. I had a black base, but it just felt too dark...not at all like things would "be okay", ya know what I mean? I also used the clouds from my PCD set "You're Dandy" and cut them out then popped them up on dimensionals. :)  That's it for today. I'll be back tomorrow with my Verve week 5 sketch challenge, so come back! :)

Stamps: My Umbrella (Pure Innocence from MFT); You're Dandy (Practicing Creativity Designs)
Card Stock: Lemon Tart, White, polka dot dsp (papertrey); Real Red (stampin up)
Ink: Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Real Red
Extras: Lemon Tart ribbon (papertrey); button (stampin up)

hello.

Monday is here once again...ah, we've missed ye! :) My card today is an entry into this week The Play Date Cafe challenge. I really love playing along with the Play Date..you should give it a go if you haven't yet. Here is this week's inspiration photo/color challenge:

I was totally baffled with those colors...the turquoise threw me off, but it turns out that the turquoise was my main color and everything else was brushed aside. It's amazing how that happens! :) Here is my card:

Not sure if you can see, but the green is used on the grass....hope that's enough green! I once again used my new MFT stamp. I have another that i'll be using soon. I can't wait to get more. It's so cool how there is SO much stuff out there. So many great companies with really cute stamps. I believe I am just getting my feet wet as far as the amount of cute stuff there is to buy! My husband will not be happy about my discoveries! LOL

That's it from me. I hope you all have a great start of the week. See you tomorrow!

Happy Mail...

Happy Saturday everyone! Today's card features my new Pure Innocence stamp..well, one of them. I finally broke down and bought two of them this week. I just couldn't stand how adorable they are! I now must buy some Copics to color them because my SU markers don't really work for me on people stamps.

Anyway, I am participating in the Inspiration Challenge (IC250) on SCS. We were to use inspiration from the Garnet Hill website. I chose this little dress:

And I also used Mercy's sketch for this week, seen here:

And finally, here is my card (maybe I should put the card first next time..lol)

Hope you like it. I can already tell that I will be buying more of these little girls..they're just so fun!
