Who's Counting?

Hey, i'm back with a card for the Moxie Fab challenge this week. As soon as I saw the clock, I knew that I was going to use "time" and the hexagons somehow. That was the first thing I saw. Here is the card:

And here is the inspiration picture:

What do you think? :)

moxie birthday..

Hey there. Thanks for dropping in. Oh, for those of you that asked - Contagion was okay. I'd give it a B-. It was great for a while and then it felt like they HAD to wrap it up and left too many unanswered questions for my taste. The cast was great, though, and it really did make me think a bit on how many germs and things there are out there and how susceptible we all really are...yeesh!

Anyway, on to my card. I am using this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. Here is the inspiration photo:

What a neat picture. I was inspired by the colors and that little banner at the top. It made me think of my grandmother. All of the little things in the photo remind me of things that would be in her home. The thread and buttons for sewing, the little "hanky" in her purse, the picnic pattern on a table in the backyard...the whole thing just screamed her to me. She was such a warm and giving person, and so I decided to make a card that included a gift. Here it is:

I used a selection of papers on this card. A little Cosmo Cricket "Circa 1934"and "Odds & Ends", both of which I really like. I thought the colors in those papers were perfect for the challenge.

I also, for the first time, used my Papertrey Seed Packet Die. I figure I can throw a gift card in here and voila - instant gift!  I really like the way it turned out and love how easy it is to put together. I added a sentiment from the Verve "Hope Blooms" set, a flower, and a little bling and I was done.

Well, that's it for me. Have a great day and thanks, again, for stopping in! Laters!

Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger...

Wow..I totally could not think of a good name for this post, can you tell? ;)

Have you guys seen the current Tuesday Trigger? Take a looksie:

Is that not a beautiful room? All of that pink and black with a splash of yellow and a bit of translucence? Yes please!

Here is my card:

I was inspired to use the vellum and patterned paper by the chandelier in the room. The paper has mini chandeliers on it and I thought the vellum worked well as there is a lot of clear glass (hmm...I guess all glass is clear, though...haha) in the room. I used my border die to mimic not only the color, but also the basic shape of the chairs and the cameo...well, I just loved the cameo. It seemed to be perfect as a final touch here.

I hope you like it! Have a great rest of the day.

love you..

Hello. Happy Friday! Today I have a card for you that I created for this week's Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger. I was immediately drawn to the spools of thread and the colors and I thought the squiggles on my MME paper, the stitching on the ribbon, and the felt would make for a fun trigger inspired card.

Again with the bright colors, but I thought these would be perfect for a little "i love you' card for my daughter, Ava. I wanted to make her a little something to let her know that I love her...hope it makes her feel happy.
I used my new Paper Smooches stamps...they're so dang cute! Check it out:

Thanks for stopping by! Oh, I almost forgot..today is my birthday, too! :)  Happy 38th birthday to meeeee....lol.

Wee Chevron Challenge..

Happy Sunday everyone! Don't you just love long weekends? This one has gone by nice and slowly for me and I have really done nothing but stamp. Love it! :)

Today, I have another card for the Moxie Fab Chevron Chic challenge, but I am also entering it into this week Wee Memories Challenge.

The challenge is to be inspired by something from Etsy or Pinterest. Well, I love love love Pinterest and had lots of things on my boards to be inspired by, but once I saw this chair I knew I could knock out two challenges at once and, BONUS!, I loved the chair.

So, here is the Pinterest inspiration piece:

Awesome, right? So, here is the card I created from that:

Love, Chevron Style..

Did you like my title? A play on "Love, American Style"....LOL.

Anyway, so I was talking to Laurie earlier today and we talked about how I just cannot seem to make a card clean and simple and LEAVE IT THERE. I always have to "add" something to it. Well, I decided to try to just quickly make a card and leave lots of white space..add no peals..no ribbons..no PATTERNED PAPER especially.
I also took the opportunity to make a card for the Moxie Fab Chevron Chic challenge.

Here is the card I made..a wedding card perhaps:

I used my Martha Stewart glitter and a flower I picked up yesterday at Target. Stamped "love" from Verve Text Objects and called it a day. I really wanted to add something to it, but I left it as is.....for now. :)

Laters....

Whirly Skirt

Hola, chicas {and any chicos that happen to drop in}! It's almost Thursday, people!  Ah, the weekend is SOOOO close. I cannot wait. I've got some Spring shopping to do and I'm ready to get to it! :)  I need clothes for me..clothes for Ava...and even "clothes" for the house in the form of new patio cushions..lol.

So, back to crafting. I took a peek at this week's Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab and IMMEDIATELY knew the card I wanted to make. I totally love my pinwheels and totally love my Background Basics: Chevrons and this card totally makes use of both of them!

First, though, here is this week's trigger:

Is that skirt not fun? It reminds me of skirts that you wear on a cool picnic and it blows in the wind. Or the skirt you wear to an outdoor festival and you just twirl around. Either way, I thought of twirling, wind, and fun which of course led me straight to my Pinwheels set and die from Lil' Inker. Have you bought yours yet? They are So cool. One thing I did do, though, was to cut my pinwheels down after I made them. For this card, I wanted them to be a tad smaller than they actually are so I just trimmed them up a bit to make a "mini-pin"..lol. Sort of like a mani-pedi without the OPI polish..lol. :)

So, enough jibber jabber, here is my card:

Fun right?? I just adore this card, though I am starting to become QUITE annoyed with my photography skills! Everything seems to be a bit yellow as compared to other folks photos. :(

Anyway, so that's all I have for you tonight. Hope the rest of your week is great!

Mojo Moxie..

Good morning! Happy Saturday! Today we are headed out to the Twilight convention and I am super psyched..for Ava. Psyched for Ava, not for me obviously, because I'm not a 12 year old girl. I can keep it together around celebrities. No, I'm just happy for AVA! ;)

Today's card uses two challenges. This week's Mojo Monday as well as this week's Tuesday Trigger over at Moxie Fab! I don't play TT a lot because I always feel so overwhelmed with the inspiration piece. This week, though, as soon as I saw it I KNEW what I was going to do. I just got these Mabel Stella Rose papers in from MME yesterday. I ordered them from Two Peas in a Bucket because of my enabling blog friend, Teresa. lol. I tell you, she can put some papers together and make you go out and buy anything!!!

Here is this week's Mojo Monday sketch:

And here is this week's Tuesday Trigger:

I was immediately drawn to the distressing on the chair and the green, blue, and orange mix up in the flowers. Just so pretty!!

So, here is the card I came up with for these challenges:

I love love love these papers. They're so fresh and bright and springy! I'll be using these a LOT! :)

Well, I gotta run. Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a lovely Saturday!

Dance..

No, not a snow dance. We already did that..lol. This time it's dancing in the rain when times get tough. That's such a hard concept, isn't it? Learning to be happy and count your blessings in the midst of chaos. I know it is for me.

The card I made today..can I just say I love it? I had the idea rolling around in my head for hours before I actually stamped it. I really like how it came out. It's simple and all, but it was a fun card!  I used the Moxie Fab challenge for Monday of this week which was to use these colors:

Each day this week, they will have a new color combo. I'm hoping to try them all..you should also! Click the pic for more info:

So, here is my card:

Can you see the embossed musical background on the second black layer?  It's so cool looking in real life and goes really well with the sentiment on the white circle.

Ok, well that's all from me today. I hope you'll play along with Moxie Fab this week. Have a wonderful day!

Stamps: Blue Skies (Verve); Timeless Textures (Skipping Stones)
Card Stock: Black, Shimmer White (papertrey); Regal Rose (SU)

Refuge & Strength..

Hello there! Ahh, Wednesday. It's almost the weekend again, right? Gotta love that. I just love my stamping time, don't you? Do you guys stamp everyday? I do. I have to...it's my quiet time in some ways. I mean, I have the TV on or my iPhone playing music, but it's still kinda like MY time to just be in my own little world.Ava usually comes in with me and we talk and share and watch TV or whatever. It's just a part of my day that I SO look forward to.

Today's card is for two challenges. The Curtain Call color challenge and the Moxie Fab World Challenge "Diggin' on Damask".  In the Moxie Fab challenge, we were to incorporate Damask into our project somehow. I used patterned paper to bring in my damask (am I the only person who loves saying that word?). The Curtain Call challenge was to use these colors:

Here is my card for these challenges:

I must say that I absolutely LOVE these blossom nesties. They are just so dang cute, no? I'm also finally learning to shade these things! I've had the hardest time..it's definitely a learning curve. Some folks make it look SO easy!

Well, that's it for me today. I hope you have a wonderful Wednesday! Laters...

Oh, one more thing.... did you see that I was a favorite this week on the Color Throwdown blog? Ack! I was so excited to see my name up there. :)

Moxie Fab warmth..

Hello everyone. Well, it's Sunday. Which means tomorrow is back to Monday. Ugh! :) To help me out, the clock in our bedroom automatically set itself back an hour so when I woke up this morning I thought it was 5:30....um, not it was 6:30!! Crazy clock..lol. That put me an hour behind for everything. Oh well, so goes Sunday!

Today's card is for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger challenge this week. I saw the challenge a couple of times in blogland this week and figured I would play along. I really liked the colors and thought the sweater in the inspiration photo was really nice. Here is the inspiration photo:

So pretty, right? I can see that with jeans and a brown tshirt and I am off to work...well, on a Friday. {smile}.  Ok, so I took my inspiration from the design on the actual body of the sweater. It looked SO much like the square lattice pattern of the SU folder. Here is my card:

The challenge ends today, so you still have a wee bit of time to play. I waited until the last minute...and so can you! LOL. Get on over there!

Come back tomorrow for my Curtain Call card. Great colors this week. Laters!

Graphic Moxie Fab!

This chair feels so modern to me and I think it works perfectly for a cool chica (now to find a cool chica who needs a card..lol)!  I popped the chair up to give it a little more weight from the rest of the card.

Ok, well I hope you guys have a great day! Be sure and head over to Moxie fab to see the rest of the cards and play along!!

Stamps: Chair-rished (papertrey)
Ink: Choclate Chip (stampin up)
