Hi everyone!  Happy Monday. :)

Short post today...sorry.  I'm sure you were waiting with baited breath for one of my long drawn out posts....not. :)

Today's card uses this week's Curtain Call Challenge colors:

Aren't they rich and warm? I love it. Here is my card:

This card was so fun to make. At first,I wasn't sure about the mustard and saffron going together, but the paper from Cosmo Cricket made it flow so easily. I just love this paper! Well, gotta go. Have a wonderful day today!

Blue Skies...

Hello everyone! I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday. It's simply beautiful in TN today! After the strong winds we had on Thursday night (we spent the majority of the night in a closet under the stairs a la Harry Potter!), we really needed this kind of day.

My card today uses the first sketch of the Viva la Verve sketches for March. These sketches are my absolute favorite. I look forward, every Friday, to seeing what the Verve Divas (in this case, Amber Hight) have come up with for us..and they never disappoint.  Here is this weeks' sketch:

Isn't it wonderful? As soon as I saw it, I knew what card I wanted to make. Don't you love when an idea comes to you as soon as you see something and then when the final product looks exactly like you pictured it? I sure do!  Here is my card:

The notebook paper may be a bit too distressed, huh? Maybe so...I have a heavy hand sometimes..lol. Well, enjoy the rest of your Saturday and if you get a chance, please stop by the Verve section of Splitcoast and play along with the challenges!

Make A Wish..

Hi everyone! I hope you're all having a great week. Mine is good so far. It's been fast, so that's always welcome, right? :)

Today, I created a card with the ever fabulous Color Throwdown challenge colors.

Aren't the polka dots too cute?  I decided to go with a birthday card since it forever seems that I make them and yet, when I need them, they are nowhere to be found. Crazy, right?

So, here is the card I made:

Isn't it just cotton candy fun? I'm not usually the one for brights, but these are so rich and sweet that I could not resist. If it looks familiar to you, it's because I made a similar card a few weeks ago. I really love the layout and those cute little flowers!

Well, that's it from me. I hope you guys have a wonderful rest of the week. Laters...

My First AmberInk Project!

Woohoo! Ok ladies, here I am with my very first AmberInk project.

Eek! Well, I must say that I just adore this image! She was so fun to print and color and I was able to arrange everything the way I wanted it. That is THE very best part of working with the digital images! So so fun...you guys have got to try this stuff! ;) If you have been around here for any amount of time, you know that I really like using circles in my design. I'm just a huge fan and I think circles are so much more fun than the other shapes. They have an inherent "wee" factor, right? This card almost bounces right off the table for me. A little twine, a few buttons, and a digital image and voila! Oh, I also used crystal effects and glitter to make the puddle and raindrops stand out. They look so cool in real life.

That's all I have for today. Thank you for stopping by! Laters...

Happy Anniversary..

Hi there. Yes, 3 posts in one day. This is what happens when I have the day off, but schools are in. :)

This card is made for this week's Make it Monday challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog.

The challenge this week was to use scortape and glitter! Here is my card:

I love this Glitter Glass. It just really rocks with its chunky texture and all...so so cool! I paired it with some ribbon I bought at Michael's last week and a sentiment from Damask Designs. I really like the way it came out. Now to find someone with an anniversary coming up. Oh, wait! MY anniversary is in a couple of weeks..lol. Off to Germany this little baby goes. ;)

Ok..that's it. I promise no more posts today...LOL.

Birthday Wishes...

Hey guys! I'm a busy bee today. Check out my other post for the day...I shared some exciting news!!

I am back with the last of the Verve sketches for the month of February. There have been some really great sketches this month, no? Here is the last sketch of the month:

I decided to make a birthday card for one of my best guy friends in the world - Gregg. He and Ava share a birthday. Here is my card:

How about that Mat Stack 4 stamp set from Papertrey? Doesn't that herringbone print on the label just scream "sophisticated man"? Ooh..I just love it! The Mat Stack 4 and coordinating stamps will definitely be getting a lot of action around here. Throw on those wooden buttons and I am just in love. :)

Did you notice that glen plaid paper? It's from AmberInk and it's digital! I just adore it and I feel like I have been looking for this style of paper for years..lol. I love plaid and this paper, as soon as I saw it, called my name. :) I will be using this a LOT! You can get it here!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Live the Life..

Hi all! Happy Sunday. I hope you've had a great weekend so far, and if you're off tomorrow, that you continue to do so. Today I finally got to my Color Throwdown card. I seriously love their color combos every week! You should give them a go if you haven't already. This weeks colors are:

And here is my card:

I really like this sentiment. Ava asked tonight if that meant she could marry Kellan Lutz. lol. Nice try, but no. :) It is such an uplifting phrase, no? What life do YOU imagine? Just have a thought on that. It's fun to think about..and then if there are things you can change, get on it!!

Well, that's it for me. Be SURE and swing by tomorrow as I have exciting news to share. ;)

Dazzle..

Hello friends! This is my second post today. I just couldn't help myself...lol.

I whipped up this little ditty for the Make it Monday challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog.

This week, we were to use a strip of vellum and to add a sentiment to that strip. My first thought was diamonds, for some reason, and this is what I made:

I apologize, but I could NOT get a picture of this card where the bling really shined. This was as close as I could get. :)

I think this card will be fabulous for Ava on her birthday. She likes dark colors (ok, black!), and also the bling. It should be fun! I'm also going to put our tickets to New York City (shh....it's a secret!) in there, so it needed to be a little blinged out, right? lol

Stamps: Big Birthday Wishes (papertrey)
Card Stock: Smokey Shadow, vellum (papertrey); DCWV striped paper (Hobby Lobby)
Ink: Versamark and black ep (SU)
Extras: Bling (want2scrap); Row of bling (Joann's); Numbers die (papertrey)

Trees and Flowers..

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. Do any of you guys read Fan Fiction? Specifically, Twilight Fan Fiction? Ugh..I am SO caught up in this story by SnowQueens IceDragon that when she updates, I find myself stopping whatever it is I am doing the minute I get her email and reading. It's crazy, but she is really really the best I have ever read. Her take on Edward and Bella have me questioning the validity of the "real" Edward and Bella..lol.

Ok, well that was random. Anyway, today's card uses the CR84Fn color challenge

as well as this week's Mojo Monday Challenge sketch:

Here is my card:

Aren't those little felt flowers and tree cute? That's more of the Basic Grey Marjolaine felt stuff that I got from Overstock.com. Yep, Overstock! They have a pretty good selection at times of craft items. You should check them out.

Well, that's it. Only a couple more posts before my 200th! I cannot believe it. It's crazy to think that I have posted 200 cards..yikes!

Stamps: Out on a Limb sentiments
Card Stock: Lemon Tart, White (papertrey); Cosmo Cricket Pixie-licious dsp
Ink: Brocade Blue (SU)

Where there is love...

Good Day, everyone! I'm glad you stopped by. We've got temps in the 50's and 60's this week in TN, and as much as I am a Winter soul, I am pining for Spring this year. I've got Spring on the brain in a major way. I'm even enjoying hearing a few birds outside my window in the morning - well, for now anyway. :)

Today I am using the third of this month's Verve Sketches. This one is SO cool. I just love the tilted panel because it adds so much visual interest. Here is this weeks sketch:

My brain immediately went to my Basic Grey Marjolaine papers. I just love the colors in this pack. Beautiful Blues, Great Greens...just yum!

So, here is the card that was born from all of this Spring fever (not unlike my Beiber fever, but that's another matter altogether...haha!):

What do you think? Oh, I've also started not messing with my photos as much.  Do they look better without the white "cloud" around them and not "softened"? I'm debating, but I think they do look better in their "natural" state.

Oh!! One more thing..I am coming up on my 200th post soon and I'm going to be having a contest or giveaway of sorts. Stay tuned for that. It should happen sometime this week!

Stamps: Text Objects, Kind Words (Verve)
Card Stock: Bashful Blue, Early Espresso (SU); Basic Grey Marjolaine (Stamper's Dream)

Cirque du baby..

Hello everyone! Happy Monday. I hope the start of your week has been good. You know today is a special day! Nooo....not Valentine's Day! It's Papertrey release night tonight! lol.  Have you guys been keeping up with all of the festivities? Amazing prizes and some great product coming out tonight. I will for sure be up ready to purchase when the clock strikes 11 Central!

So, onto today's card. I used the sketch from this week's Card Patterns sketch, but I flipped it. Here is the original sketch:

And here is how I oriented it:

Just kinda flipped it on its side and here is the resulting card:

Ok, is it just me or does this baby card remind you of the circus? Haha!  It could just be me. I love the papers (My Mind's Eye), and love the way they appeal to me as a baby card, but it was the first thing I thought of once the card was done. :)

Well, that's it from me. I am back at work today feeling a bit better...enough to go back to work anyway. Thanks for stopping by...

My Girls..

Happy Sunday everyone! I hope you're having a great day. I'm still feeling poorly, but I wanted to make some little treats for my Awana girls to give out tonight. If you're not familiar with Awana, I like to cal lit a cross between Girl Scouts and Bible Drill. The girls (and boys) ages 3 - 6th grade come and learn Bible Verses, play games, have group time...it's just a really great time. Ava is in her last year (womp womp) and she's thoroughly enjoyed it. I've taught her class - the same group of girls - since they were in first grade. It'll be hard next year and I haven't decided whether I am going to follow them to the Youth Group or not. :)

Anyway, so I saw what Debby made today and thought that would be perfect for the girls. Hers are fancier than mine, but I like the way mine came out. ;)

I used this week's Curtain Call Challenge colors:

Here are my treat bags:

And a close up of my favorite 3:

If you look closely, you'll see that some of them have "flaps". I decided to not to cut the card stock down to 9 inches on those and just scored it again at 2 inches to make that part. I thought it made a kinda different look that I liked. :) I also used lots of Stampin' Up Rub-on's that I got from my Secret Sister over on Splitcoaststampers. I had absolutely no rub ons before and let me tell you -  I adore them! They are so easy to put on and look just as sweet as pie! The rub ons are the balloons, clouds, "love you", and "xoxo"...aren't they neat?

Well, that's all for me. I'm going back to sleep. Thanks for stopping by. Laters!

Avakins...

"Avakins". That's what I call my daughter, Ava. She hates it, but I love it. :)

I love love these colors from this weeks Color Throwdown. They really look great together for a preteen Valentine card, I think! Here are the colors:

Aren't they cool? You should give it a go! I decided to go ahead and make the Valentine's Day card I am going to give to Ava (along with Ghirardelli chocolates and an iTunes gift card) on Monday.  Here is the card:

Well, that's all from me today. We've got yet another snow/ice day and of course I have a migraine. I am going to go and lie down for a while. Thanks for stopping by! Laters..

For Dad...

Hi again. Yes, this is my second post of the day. I know, I know...on a roll and such. :)

Today's card uses this month's Sketch For You To Try, seen here:

And also uses another of the Design Team favorites on Papertrey. In this case, it is the favorite of Heather Nichols.

Aren't those colors lovely? I needed to make a card for my Dad. His birthday is in a couple of weeks and these colors were perfect. So, here is my card:

I just got my order from Stamper's Dream in and I bought the Basic Grey Marjolaine papers. I just love love love them!  Anyway, gotta run.."Criminal Minds" is on (and yes, I DO watch too much TV...lol)

Stamps: Through the Trees, Out on a LImb sentiments (papertrey)
Card Stock: Kraft, Spring Rain (papertrey); Basic Grey Marjolain dsp (Stamper's Dream)
Ink: Almost Artichoke, Chocolate Chip, Versamark (su)
Extras: Twine, wood buttons (papertrey)

For Alex...

Hi everyone! Today's card is just so special! I made it for my step daughter, Alex. Alex lives in Seattle with her mom, and we don't get to see her a lot, but she's a great kid! She spent last summer with us and we had a great time. So, she'll be 16 in a couple of weeks. I cannot believe it! Of course, I am too young to have a child that age (Ha!), but apparently my husband is not...heehee.

So, in keeping with the festivities over at Papertrey, I decided to use one of the color schemes provided for today's contest.

This is the favorite of Lisa Johnson. I chose this one because these are colors that I don't normally use - especially red  - and I thought it would be a nice change of pace. Who knows...red could become the next yellow for me. :)

Here is the card that I made for Alex:

All I can say is that I will totally use this color combo again. I love the way it all looks together. What do you think?

Stamps: Big Birthday Wishes (papertrey)
Card Stock: Spring Rain, Vanilla, Kraft (papertrey); dsp (su)
Ink: Bashful Blue, Real Red (su)
Extras: Woodgrain impression plate, Numbers Die, button, large scallop border, twine (papertrey); Flower (Michael's)
