Flutterby Friend Mini Blog Hop!

Hey everyone and welcome to our mini blog hop! Last week, Laurie and I were emailing back and forth and *somehow* started talking about Flutterby Friend and then that resulted in us deciding to do a mini blog hop with Jen and Amy! Let me just tell you that these women are uber talented and can totally rock ANY stamp set. They *say* that I am the reason they bought this set. Mwahahaha! I love enticing people..lol. Good times.

So anywho, I decided to use no predetermined sketches or challenge colors. It was kinda fun to just do whatever the heck I wanted to do, though it was a little intimidating at first!

Anyway, so on to the cards. I made three cause I SO love this set and could not put it down. My first thought was to create a card using this set for each season of the year. My husband reminded me, though, that there can be no snow covered butterflies..lol. Oh well! I guess they would be pretty chilly in the snow. *wink*

Here is Card One:

I decided to go with an unconventional color scheme for butterflies. Normally, I think of soft colors and light fabrics when I think of butterflies. This color combo, though, really stuck out for me and I wanted to see what came out. I like it. I might do something different with the ribbon if I do this again, but I think it works. Also, it may look like black, but the darker panel is Early Espresso.

Card Two:

Ok, so another color scheme that doesn't scream butterfly, but I LOVE that Cherry Cobbler color and HAD to use it. I just love cutting these little guys out. They're so easy to cut and fun to stamp on patterned paper like I did here. I find it works best on paper with small patterns like these polka dots. I also used the Limitless Labels set just released from Papertrey last month on the sentiment panel. It's so cool! I was going for a "the butterflies are flying away just like you did and I miss you" vibe. At least that's what I was thinking about when I made this one.
