Thought of You Today

Hi everyone! Thank you for stopping by today! I am playing along with the Freshly Made Sketches # 193 challenge. I have a hard time sometimes making a "clean" card. I tend to use tons of designer and patterned paper, so this was kinda nerve wrecking..lol. Here is the sketch:

And here is my simple card....

Have a happy Monday!

With Sympathy

Good Sunday to you all. Today, I am back with a sympathy card for a friend of ours who lost their 16 year old son last week. It has been such a shock and so sad. He was such a healthy and active kid, but somehow his heart and organs just gave out and before he could get a heart transplant, he died.

So, this is the card I made for them. I used this week's Retro Sketch, seen here:

And here is my card:

I used the Life is Beautiful dies from Papertrey Ink, and a sentiment from Out on a Limb, also from Papertrey Ink. The patterned paper is from SU. Thanks for stopping by!

let us be grateful...papertrey blog hop

Happy Monday! Today I have a  card for the September Papertrey Blog Hop. Here is my card:

And here is the inspiration photo:

I pulled the colors, sweater texture, and what I felt was the flower sentiment from the inspiration photo for my card. I also used this week's Retro Sketches layout with a wee bit of leeway, seen here:

Thanks for stopping by! Head over to Nichole Heady's blog to see more blog hop cards or to join in!

Celebrating your birthday..

Hi there! Hope your week went by quickly. I should be hearing about a job soon. Hopefully, I'm hoping something comes along <fingers crossed>.

So, today I am playing along with the Freshly Made sketch for this week. It's a great sketch with lots of possibilities. I decided to get out some designer paper (big surprise!) and create a birthday card. Here is my card:

And here is the sketch for this week....

I just love the colors of that designer paper and the flower (and coordinating punch) is from Stampin' Up! So shabby chic-ish so says my daughter..haha. Anyway, I hope your weekend gets started nicely. See you soon and thanks for stopping in!

Make it Monday - weave pattern

Hi! Look at me..back again with another card. I'm finally able to catch on to something they are doing over at Papertrey. The MiM's always seem too hard for me, but this time I think I picked it up pretty well, though that's not to say it was easy for me by any means.

The challenge was to use paper weaving to make a background or anything else you wanted. Here is a link to the challenge - Make it Monday.  Here is my card:

It took a bit of time, but I would definitely use this technique again!

Get well soon...

Hi guys! I have a quick card that I thought I had already posted to this week's Freshly Made Sketches, but apparently had not and it's ending in 15 minutes! :)

So here is my card followed by the sketch:

Thanks for stopping by.

Strength

Hello. I had to make a sympathy card for a friends of mine who lost her mother suddenly. There are my least favorite cards to do - as I am sure they are yours as well. Anyway, no challenges or color combos here...just a card from the heart.

See you soon..

Mojo Monday

Hey there! Thanks for dropping in! I have this week's Mojo Monday card for you. I just love these colors together and the designer paper is one of my favorites. It's from Stampin Up, I think, and is long gone. :(

So, here is the card:

and here is the sketch:

I too a wee bit of leeway with the sketch to even my card out, but I like how i turned out. Have a happy day!

Your wonderful self

Hi all! Second post of the day - fancy! :)

I am playing along with the Make it Monday over at the Papertrey/ Nichole heady bog. The challenge was do emboss resist using die cuts. I swear it t me watching that video 100 times before I got it right...lol. I'm a slow learner apparently. I do like how it came out. I don't have a lot of the dies, so I was a little limited on what I could do PLUS my versamark is contaminated with red ink so the embossed part has a pink tinge. Anyway, so here is the card along with a close up of the embossed section.

Check out the challenge and play along.

Thinking of you!

Hey there! I'm back this morning with another card for the current sketch at Freshly Made Sketches. It ends in a few hours, so I am squeezing it in. :)

And here, again, is the great sketch! I went a little outside the box for this card. It's definitely more graphic and bold than most of my cards, but I like it.

I'm also using this week's color combo at Color Throwdown. It's so bright and cheery. I decided to go a little darker on the base!

Well, that's it from me today. I hope your week is starting off well. Take care!

Thought of you today....

Happy Saturday everyone! We have the county fair in town, so we went last night and had a great time. Fair food = yum! :)

Today, I have another card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches. I just love the sketch. I used some great designer paper I found in a stash I have had for a couple of years. It matched perfectly with the SU Strawberry Slush (which may just be my favorite color ever!) and the PapertreyInk Lemon Tart - another favorite. I just adore this card. The sentiment is also from SU. The butterfly is an older Verve die. Anyway, here is my card:

And here, again, is the sketch:

Well, that's that. I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

I think you can!

Well, good morning to everyone! I have a full day ahead of me, but I still managed to get a quick card in for this week's Freshly Made Sketch and also the colors from this week's Color Throwdown. It's a really neat design with such vibrant colors from the ladies at CTD. Here is a quick card I made for it.

And here is the sketch:

And the color scheme:

I just love the little Papertrey Train Track's set. I don't use it a whole lot, but it is a fun set. There is a little boy having some trouble in school, so I think this will be in the mail today on it's way to him! :)

Signing off...

Who's Counting?

Hey, i'm back with a card for the Moxie Fab challenge this week. As soon as I saw the clock, I knew that I was going to use "time" and the hexagons somehow. That was the first thing I saw. Here is the card:

And here is the inspiration picture:

What do you think? :)

Sweet Sunday wish

Hey everyone! Today I am playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch..I think for the first time! The sketch was really cool. I ordered banners from SU last week, but they won't be until tomorrow, so I just made my own..haha. I really liked the colors together..so bright and all.

Here is the sketch my card is based. I think I could make cards using this sketch all day long. The possibilities are endless.

Well, that's it. I'll see you soon with new stuff. Hope you like it..and don't forget to follow me!

Sincere thanks..

Hello! Boy, it's been good to be creating again. Just feeling creative has really lifted me out of the funk of not working.  I am pretty sure, though, I have that job I applied for. They seem to like me, so we shall see.
The sketch is lovely with too many possibilities. Since I am trying to learn to sometimes keep it simple, I came up with a really quick card. It was fun to just not over think a card. Just have a person in mind and make something they would enjoy instead of what I would enjoy, ya know? Anyway, so without further ado here is my card:

I played along with the ladies over at  Freshly Made sketches using this weeks sketch:

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with someything new...maybe. :)

A little birdie..

Hey there! Hope you're having a good week. I have an interview today for a job, so I am excited/nervous about that. Wish me luck!

Anyhow, I made this card for Lori Tecler who is starting to teach Kindergarten this year. How exciting. I have always thought it would be fun to teach Kindergarten or first grade. So, here is my card..

I used the latest Mojo Monday challenge

and the latest Color Throwdown challenge

I just love these colors together and the sketch was perfect because I wanted to add a little gift to the card. The seed packet die was perfect for that. It seems to work better for me than the regular gift card die. The sentiment is from the Verve set Chicks Rule. I love that little set!

Well, that's all I have today. Be sure and stop by the Color Throwdown AND Mojo Monday to participate in the challenges. There is still lots of time left.

Thanks for stopping by!
