celebrate..

Hello! Well, this week is just flying by! It's already halfway done..yay!

Today, I have a card for the current CR84FN challenge. Here are the challenge colors:

I decided to make a card unlike my normal cards. No patterned paper and no buttons. Pretty CAS, though, I DID add ribbon and glitter. Hey, Rome wasn't built in a day, ya know? I had to have SOMETHING extra. :)

Here is what I made:

I love the way Smokey Shadow looks with the bright pink and bit of black. The butterfly is actually the same color as the ribbon, but the glitter didn't photograph it the same.

Well, that's it from me. Hope you guys have a great Wednesday!

Baby Bunny!

Hi there! Hope you're doing well. I just love pastels, don't you? I don't wear them, but I love to create with them...especially baby cards! I love using yellow even when I know the sex. Yellow..and also light greens. I think they stand out from the normal pinks and blues. The current CR84FN challenge uses yellow, kraft, and a neutral and I immediately thought of a baby card!

And since I am still obsessed with my SU "A New Little Someone" set, the bunny is making another appearance! Here is my card:

I just love changing up the colors on his feet, ears, and bow. He's such a little cutie! Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Bit of You...

Hi everyone. Back with a quick card today for this week's CR84F challenge. This week's colors were:

I made a little card to send to one of my favorite people in my family. :)

Here it is:

Have a great Tuesday!

Hope is the thing with Feathers...

Hi everyone! Ahh, I have so missed stamping the last few days. All of my posts last week were scheduled because my mom was having surgery and staying with us while she recovers some so this weekend was SO busy!! Her surgery went fine and she is ready to go home..lol..but I think that's because I will not do what she says! haha...

Anyway, today's card features this month's first Verve sketch for April. The sketch is brought to us by Amber Hight. It has so many cool little panels...so much fun to use!

I am also using the color scheme from this week's CR84FN challenge.

I love these colors together. They're so woodsy to me. I decided not to go with a masculine card because I wanted to use my newest Verve Plain Jane, "Hope Perches". Emily Dickinson is my all time favorite poet, so as soon as I saw they were releasing this I knew that I had to have it. The entire poem is lovely.

So, here is my card:

I just love this card for all of the panels. This was a great sketch. It was fun to use the different papers and textures with this. I added the Papertrey images of the birdcage and bird from "Love Birds". I thought it went perfectly with the Verve sentiment.

Last week, I got a great little surprise in the mail from my friend, Teresa. She sent me a package full of goodies...brads and bling, papers, fabrics, seam binding..just tons of way cool stuff. She is SO very sweet!  The brad on the ribbon and the floral paper are both from my gift! :)

Well, that's it from me. I will leave you guys with the "Hope is the thing with Feathers" poem in its entirety! :)  Thanks for stopping by!

Hope is the thing with feathers
That perches in the soul,
And sings the tune without the words,
And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;
And sore must be the storm
That could abash the little bird
That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chilliest land
And on the strangest sea;
Yet, never, in extremity,
It asked a crumb of me.

Happy B'day, Friend!

Hi there! Happy Monday! I'm glad to say that I am feeling MUCH better than I was last week. Whatever that crud was, I am glad that it is gone!

Today I am playing along with the CR84FN challenge. I love these colors. Take a look:

Aren't they lovely together? I decided to make a card for my friend, Tara, who is celebrating today! We are going to Sips n Strokes tonight. I've never been, so i'm excited about going! I am not sure how good a painter I will be, but it'll still be fun to be out and about. I rarely go anywhere without Ava when hubby is gone, so this will be good for me.

Here is the card I made for her:

The flower is so puffy and pretty! It's another Prima flower that I picked up at Two Peas in a Bucket a couple of weeks ago. That place is my new favorite place to shop for embellishments and paper. Yummy selections!

Thanks for stopping in! Have a wonderful week!

Stamps: Think Big Favorites #1 (Papertrey)
Card Stock: Baja Breeze, Basic Grey (SU)

Howdy, Hello!

Hi everyone! Thanks for dropping by. Today's card is a fun spring hello card! I opted to use two challenges. The first, CR84FN challenge, was to use light pink, green, and a bright pink.

The second challenge is the Papertrey Posse March petite challenge which was to make a Springy card.  I actually made two cards, but this was the one I liked better.

I just really love that Hello, Friend stamp set and die from Papertrey. It's just so much fun and has the coolest sentiments (and you guys know how I feel about sentiments!). I used Pretty in Pink, Melon Mambo, and Certainly Celery.  They go so great together! I made the green panel impressed with the woodgrain impression plate and then kinda waffled it a bit, so it kinda has a treelike look when you see the card IRL. Not sure if you can tell from the internet, but it's a cool look for me.

If you have a chance, you should play with us over on the Papertrey Posse blog. We have two challenges going right now and you have until the end of the month to finish them. What could be easier!?

Well, that's it. Thanks for stopping by and thanks, as always, for leaving love. :) Laters...

Trees and Flowers..

Hello, and thanks for stopping by. Do any of you guys read Fan Fiction? Specifically, Twilight Fan Fiction? Ugh..I am SO caught up in this story by SnowQueens IceDragon that when she updates, I find myself stopping whatever it is I am doing the minute I get her email and reading. It's crazy, but she is really really the best I have ever read. Her take on Edward and Bella have me questioning the validity of the "real" Edward and Bella..lol.

Ok, well that was random. Anyway, today's card uses the CR84Fn color challenge

as well as this week's Mojo Monday Challenge sketch:

Here is my card:

Aren't those little felt flowers and tree cute? That's more of the Basic Grey Marjolaine felt stuff that I got from Overstock.com. Yep, Overstock! They have a pretty good selection at times of craft items. You should check them out.

Well, that's it. Only a couple more posts before my 200th! I cannot believe it. It's crazy to think that I have posted 200 cards..yikes!

Wishes...

Hello everyone! Can I just stop and say how much I appreciate all of the love I have felt from you guys regarding my husband's deployment. You guys are just the best. Whether it was here on or facebook, I have really felt the love from y'all!

Anywho...on to my post. Today's card started off being masculine, but it snuck over to a more feminine side while I wasn't looking. :) I am using the colors from this weeks CR84FN challenge. The challenge colors were these:

And here is my card:

I love that Cosmo Cricket "Wanted" paper. It's got this cool bohemian cowboy feel to it that I like. It's funny how you think you have one style, but the more you stamp the more you discover other things that appeal to you. I think that's cool. Well, that's it from me tonight. Time to head to bed.  I hope you guys are safe and warm wherever you are. Whether it is floods in Australia, protesting in Cairo, fighting in the Middle East, snow in the States and on and on and on, there is just so much going on. It's good to have things like stamping to de-stress, am I right?  Take care you guys and thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: Time to celebrate a la mode (MFT)
Card Stock: Hawaiian Shores (papertrey); Early Espresso (su); Cosmo Cricket "Wanted"

Because of You...

Hi everyone! There is nothing I love more than an extra day off! I love my job, I do. Have an awesome Boss, but i'll take a free day off any time! :)

Do you ever run across sentiments that are just so dead on that you have to have them? That's how I felt when I ran across the Just for You set from Verve. It's just really really nice. When I look at the sentiments, I think of women like my mom, my aunts, friends, mentors...it can just be used for so many of the people in our lives who helped to mold who we are.

I'm using the colors from this week's CR84FN challenge. Here are the challenge
colors:

And here is my card:

I really love these colors together..very rich. For the red I used Cherry Cobbler - just hands down the BEST red out there! I also used my new MFT Mini Rolled Roses dies. Like the original, they are fun and easy to use but they're smaller and oh so cute! They work perfectly on felt (the cream rose) and card stock (the brown). I will say, though, that I have much better luck if I emboss the card stock first with an embossing folder. It kinda breaks down the card stock a bit and it's easier to "roll".

That's it from me today. I hope you guys have a wonderful day! Laters...

Stamps: Just for You (Verve); Polka Dot Basics 2 (papertrey)
Card Stock: Kraft, Cherry Cobbler (su)
Ink: Chocolate Chip, Versamark (su)

Baby Cakes

Hello and welcome to another week! Here in Nashville we got SNOW! Can you believe it? Here are a few of pictures of our front yard:

And one of the backyard:

And yes, I know that this amount of snow is piddles for some of y'all.  But here? Well, here it is huge and garners all sorts of school and business closings.  Ava and I woke up simultaneously at 2:30am just to watch the Snow Report and see if "we" were out..lol. We had already put all of the spoons in the house under our pillows (which may explain why we awoke at 2:30. You cannot sleep very well on a pillow of spoons..lol), pajamas on inside out and ice cubes in the toilet! We're so dumb, but hey..it worked! LOL.  I just love snow! I also love snow days! ;)

So, today's card is using a newer challenge for me. I've only participated once before, but it's really a great color challenge. You guys should check it out if you haven't. It is the CR84FN challenge hosted by Mona Pendleton. Here are this week's colors:

I immediately thought an Easter card would be cute, but considering it's nowhere close to Easter I went with a baby card..lol. I've had this Taylored Expressions set for months, but have never used it. It's such a fun little set! Here is my card:

This was a super fun card to make. I fussy cut the items "hanging" on the clothesline and paper pieced them so that the flowed better in terms of colors. I also used the grass and clouds from an older PCD set called "You're Dandy".

Ok, well that's it. I am going to stay in my jammies and get some hot tea and maybe read a book. I haven't read "Rooms" in a while, so maybe i'll read that again. Hope you guys have a wonderful day! Thanks for stopping by!

Stamps: You're Dandy (PCD); Hanging Out (Taylored Exprresssions)
Card Stock: White (papertrey); Lovely Lilac, dsp (SU)
Ink: Basic Brown, Close to Cocoa, Old Olive, Lovely Lilac, Baja Blue
Extras: Glitter and Old Olive grosgrain (SU)

Magic Wand....

Hi guys! I SO wish I had a magic wand to get me out of this little creative and overall funk. It took me ALL dang day to make this card. Ok, so I stopped for a while to take Ava to Hollister, but other than that..ok, and did some laundry..but other than THOSE things (lol), I have been trying to create ONE card that I was happy with. If you're a facebook friend of mine, you'll remember that my plan today was to get out of this and create one card. Well, I suppose I met that goal. It was hard, though! Normally I post everyday, but I haven't done anything since Tuesday..ugh, this stinks! :(

Anyhow, you didn't come here to be Dr. Banner to my Fifty (um, never mind..it's a piece of fanfic..lol), so on with the card! I used this weeks Waltzingmouse Sketch

and the colors are from the Cupcake's Creations Color Challenge.

This is my first time playing along with the Cupcake Creations challenges..I really like this weeks colors, don't you? There is still another week to play on this one, so head over there and check it out.

Ok, so here is my card:

I used my new My Favorite Things Rolled Flower die with my Papertrey felt..it was heavenly to quickly diecut and roll up that little ditty...really cute, eh? Gosh, actually I used a few different brands this week. The background stamped image is by Skipping Stones..the sentiment is Papertrey..the little squigglies under and over the sentiment are Waltzingmouse! Neat..

WEll, I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving if you're in the States and a great weekend overall whether you are or not. I really miss stamping, but i'm just not sure HOW to get back into the swing of things. For those interested, i've talked to hubby a few times since he has been gone and we've Facetimed which is so cool! :)

OK, well that's it from me today. Hopefully, i'll be back tomorrow! (Cross your fingers on that one) Laters!
