Feel Better...

Happy New Year, blog friends! I am so happy to be crafting again. This morning I woke up and said, "You MUST create something..anything!". It has been so long that it felt like I barely knew my way around my stuff..lol. Crazy! After a short amount of time, though, I decided to make a get well card for my Sunday School teacher. She has been out with severe back pain for about a month now and is scheduled to have surgery in a few weeks. It started with the card and then I got the wild hair to do a bag also and stuff it with her favorite snacks to take over today. I have never done anything other than cards, really, but I saw these bags at the Dollar Tree before Christmas and thought I would pick some up in case I ever wanted or needed to make my own gift bag. I really like the way they came out. Take a look:

First the set...

Now, here is a closer look at just the card:

And finally, the bag:

I used the colors from this week's Play Date Cafe challenge, seen here:

I really love the colors together and the distressed dots paper from Papertrey is so neat! I also decided to stamp the image directly onto the craft and do some select paper piecing. What do you think of that part? I really like it, I do believe. It's something different anyway.

Well, I better get to the store and take it over to her house now. I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I am hoping that today's crafting was the push I needed to get back into things. I will say this...some of the comments you guys left on my post from Thursday were the sweetest I have ever gotten. It made me feel so good to read your thoughts on my "faves". You guys are too kind.

Stamps: My Umbrella (My Favorite Things)
Ink: Rose Red, Basic Brown (su)
Card Stock: Kraft, Distressed Dots (papertrey); Early Espresso (su)
Extras: Button (papertrey); floral ribbon (american crafts)

Oh, wow, Keva, I love both of these! The Distressed Dots paper and rose ribbon paired with the kraft = heavenly! And my favorite part is that you stamped your image directly on the kraft and then paper pieced--it makes it look really special!
