Sunday School thanks...pt. 1
Yesterday was the last Sunday of the church year which means that next Sunday Ava will have new teachers and she'll move up to the 6th grade class. Yay! I made a couple of cards for her teachers. I really love some of Stampin' Up's new designer papers..great colors and designs. I really like the chevron type pattern on this paper. I'll show you the other card in my next post.

Long time gone...
Wow...has it REALLY been 10 days since my last post? I knew life had been crazy, but..wow. Sorry about that. These last two weeks have been REE - DIK - U - LUSS! I mean, just non stop reading and things at my house. Let me let you guys in on a little secret...I am NOT a good multitasker at home. At work, I can do it all day, but at home I can only do one thing at a time. I am an avid reader..love love love to read and the last couple of weeks I have gotten out of control with it. Everyday when I come home, I go to my little reading chaise with a glass or mug of hot or cold tea and have at it. I don't like putting books down, so when I start a book I finish it that same session. It's a sickness, I know, and it also makes my reading an expensive habit since I immediately need another book when I am done with one. Does anyone know of a better way for me to get books that I can keep cheaper...like an online club or something? My husband says I should get books at the Library, but I want my own books...just for me! I know this isn't a reading blog, but I do want to mention a book that I read yesterday that I just loved. It is called "Rooms" and it is by James Rubart. If you've read "The Shack" then you're on the right road..it's that same type of book, but honestly I liked it a tad more (and I loved The Shack).
Ok, so on to the card. My mum always asks me for cards on the day she needs them. Usually an hour before she needs them, and I cannot create with pressure. So, I made this card for an upcoming wedding and when she asks me for a card, I'll have this little baby to give..ready to go! It's not my typical style of wedding card, but as I was creating it, this is what resulted. It's darker than what I would usually do, but I really like it. Ok, later peeps..

Papertrey Posse Challenge - July!
Hi everyone! Welcome to the 2nd Papertrey Posse blog hop. This month's challenge was to use a certain color scheme. The colors were Ocean Tide, Aqua Mist, Melon Berry, and Dark Chocolate. It took some time to get this card right...but I like what eventually emerged from the stamp room.
The patterned paper on this card totally saved me. I wasn't sure how I was going to get the colors to come together, but I think it worked. Don't forget to check out the other ladies in the group.

Graphic Moxie Fab!
Hey there! Hope your day is going well. Today I decided to participate in a challenge. I made this card for the Moxie Fab World Card Style Clean and Graphic Challenge. I really had fun with this card. It is SO simple, but I love the graphic design this paper gives it..love it! This chair feels so modern to me and I think it works perfectly for a cool chica (now to find a cool chica who needs a card..lol)! I popped the chair up to give it a little more weight from the rest of the card.
Stamps: Chair-rished (papertrey)
Ink: Choclate Chip (stampin up)
Cardstock: Pear Pizzazz (stampin up); patterned paper (DCWV)
Ok, well I hope you guys have a great day! Be sure and head over to Moxie fab to see the rest of the cards and play along!!

I'm here for you....
Hello! I hope you're having a great day. It's gloomy and rainy here in TN...just like I love it. I have always been fond of the rain. I love to sleep while it's raining, read while it's raining, too. Such a calming sound.
Anyway, I made this card for my (step) daughter, Alex. She's having a rough time and really misses her mom (she's staying the summer with us) and last night I found her sitting downstairs crying. I felt so bad for her. I've got a degree in Social Work, but I am NO counselor. I just felt paralyzed trying to comfort her. I am MUCH better comforting people in writing..so that's what I did. I ran upstairs and made this little card and left it for her to find this morning. I hope she likes it and realizes how much I love her. :o)
The patterned paper is from a pack of DCWV that I bought at Joann. The *gritty* circles are actually glittery (not sure if that comes across on the computer), and I just love it. It's funny how much patterned paper I have. I was looking in the SU catalog last night and was about to order more and then realized that I had just ordered some last Friday. Wow. It's a sickness...lol.
Well, that's it for today. Hope you guys are all having a wonderful week so far! Thanks for stopping by...

Busy Busy Mojo
Hi everyone. Here is my card for this week's Mojo Monday sketch. It was harder than I thought and the squares were made too big, but I think it all worked out ok.
The one thing that MAY be a little much is the background paper I love it, but I think that with the addition of the stars, it seems a little busy. Also, I'm not sure if the words flow nicely..the word "star" is a little too far from the "you're a rock", but again..oh well. LOL
Have a great rest of the day!

Thanks for everything Pt. 3
Hi everyone! It's finally Friday - yeah! My second favorite day of the week. Saturday is my favorite, but mostly during the fall when Ohio State football (and college football in general) is on..lol. I just found out that we're headed up to Columbus for a game this season. I am stoked. I cannot wait!
So, here is my third card in the Thank You series. I had really good intentions on this one, but i'm not sure I hit the target on it. There seem to be too many colors...it's a little busy. I think if I had left out the aqua mist strip, it would have been a little better, but it is what it is and I'm going to post it and live with it. :)

Thanks for everything Pt. 2
Happy Thursday! Wow...I cannot believe it is Thursday already. I didn't go back to work until yesterday, so it's a very short week indeed.
This is the second of my family Thank You cards. I really love this one and it fits the recipient to a tee, I think!
I tried to pick the right little froo froo thingy (yeah, i am SO up on what things are called these days..lol) to stamp in the middle of the white panel to match the froo froo thingies on the patterned paper. I think I got close enough. ;)
Stamps: Giga Guidelines, Inside Out: Thank You (papertrey)
Cardstock: Smokey Shadow, White (papertrey); Raspberry Tart dsp( stampin up)
Ink: Basic Grey, Cameo Coral (stampin up)
Extras: Black grosgrain (papertrey)

Thanks for everything Pt. 1
Hola Peeps! Gracious, it feels like forever since I have stamped and blogged. All of my posts last week were scheduled because I had my entire family (and most of hubby's side) in town for a huge luau. They all came in starting Tuesday and the last of them left yesterday. I never knew how big of a production hosting can be..it was exhausting. I am mentally and physically kaput. In the process of all this *hosting*, I fractured a bone in my foot, lost a great decorative towel, had a baby poo on our sofa, got dirt on the carpet, ruined a Cruisinart skillet, and been to Walmart more times than I care to recall....whew!! It was all worth it, but man was it a challenge.
Anyway, so this week I am making Thank You cards for family members that really went above and beyond in their support of me and also in their contributions to the luau itself. This was our first time hosting anything large, and a few people really stepped up to the plate remembering things from their experiences that helped us tremendously. Tonight is the first of the cards..
I used similar colors on a card I made for the papertrey hop in May, but this was is more...um, translucent I guess..lol. I sponged a little Vintage Cream ink on the flowers just to make them pop a bit. I love the way the flowers look on the kraft paper all naked, ya know?
Ok, well So You Think You Can Dance is back on, so I gotta jet. Back tomorrow with my 2nd Thank You card! Take care!

Polka Dot to Dot
Happy Friday, everyone! Today's card is a card I sent to Jessica this week for her birthday! Jessica is a member of the Papertrey Posse along with myself and 11 other fabulous ladies. It's been so much fun getting to know other women and sharing and caring. Anyway, so Jessica's card is pretty straightforward and simple. I love how the words from All About You fit into the frame of Fillable Frames 4. That's awesome! Well, that's all i've got. Hope you guys have a fun filled holiday weekend!
