Innocence Lost....

Happy Tuesday! I'm just going to go ahead and say how fun this card was to make! I have never made a Halloween card! We aren't anti-Halloween, but Ava is 11 now (and thinks she's too old) and even when she was younger, we always went to church for Fall Festival so a lot of the "scary" in Halloween was lost on me after I grew up. I can remember back then Halloween being all about the scare factor. It seems different to me now..maybe it's not, but it feels that way. :(

So anyway, I was on Ted's Blog the other day and he issued a challenge. If you email him with the subject line "Trick or Treat, Ted?", he will email you back and say either Trick (which means your card has to use non traditional Halloween colors) or Treat (which means you can use traditional). Thankfully, I got treat! Whew. Well, as it is I have no Halloween stamps and since I won't be making any Halloween cards, I didn't want to buy any. I saw lots of crafty stuff at the Target Dollar Spot this weekend and in that bin was a pack of rub ons that I thought would be perfect! Then today while sitting at my desk, the thought came into my head to use the Pure Innocence Happy Mail girl as a mass (or not so mass) murderer (I watch too much Criminal Minds and Fringe, people!!) and so I printed out the axe from Microsoft Word Clip Art and shrunk it down to the size where I thought it should be and boy I could not WAIT to get home!! I used the Mojo Monday sketch for this week, too, but I flipped it!

Here is the sketch:

And here is my card:

So...what do you think?? I'm anxious to know! :) The only stamp is the girl. The tree, "rip", bat, moon, and hat are all from the rub on pack and there is still lots more so who knows..maybe y'all will see another Halloween card after all! Laters!

ETA: The die at the top of the orange panel is the PTI Mat Stack 4 die. I just put it at the end of the paper and only ran that little bit through the Cuttlebug instead of the entire sheet. :)

Stamps: Happy Mail (Pure Innocence by MFT)
Card Stock: White, Black, Orange, and Bitty dots (papertrey)
Ink: Black, Creamy Caramel, Close to Cocoa, Going Grey (stampin up)
Extras: Rub ons (Target $ Spot), Grosgrain (papertrey)

9 brownkowments:

Wow, Keva...what an adorable little... psychopathic killer? ;) I love the traditional colors here and a great job of paper piecing! Good use of MS clip art to boot! Thanks for playing along with me this month! :)
