Flutterby Friend Mini Blog Hop!

Hey everyone and welcome to our mini blog hop! Last week, Laurie and I were emailing back and forth and *somehow* started talking about Flutterby Friend and then that resulted in us deciding to do a mini blog hop with Jen and Amy! Let me just tell you that these women are uber talented and can totally rock ANY stamp set. They *say* that I am the reason they bought this set. Mwahahaha! I love enticing people..lol. Good times.

So anywho, I decided to use no predetermined sketches or challenge colors. It was kinda fun to just do whatever the heck I wanted to do, though it was a little intimidating at first!

Anyway, so on to the cards. I made three cause I SO love this set and could not put it down. My first thought was to create a card using this set for each season of the year. My husband reminded me, though, that there can be no snow covered butterflies..lol. Oh well! I guess they would be pretty chilly in the snow. *wink*

Here is Card One:

I decided to go with an unconventional color scheme for butterflies. Normally, I think of soft colors and light fabrics when I think of butterflies. This color combo, though, really stuck out for me and I wanted to see what came out. I like it. I might do something different with the ribbon if I do this again, but I think it works. Also, it may look like black, but the darker panel is Early Espresso.

Card Two:

Ok, so another color scheme that doesn't scream butterfly, but I LOVE that Cherry Cobbler color and HAD to use it. I just love cutting these little guys out. They're so easy to cut and fun to stamp on patterned paper like I did here. I find it works best on paper with small patterns like these polka dots. I also used the Limitless Labels set just released from Papertrey last month on the sentiment panel. It's so cool! I was going for a "the butterflies are flying away just like you did and I miss you" vibe. At least that's what I was thinking about when I made this one.

And finally Card Three:

This is the card that, to me, works on every level in terms of the stamp set. I think this one is my favorite. The plants and the butterfly both have glitter on them and that bow with the pearl is just a fun accent on there. Here is a closeup of the glittery plants and the paper:

Well, that's all I have for today. I hope you enjoyed my original creations {smile}. Now, go and hop on over to see what Laurie, Amy, and Jen did with this set..then go buy it! :)

Lovely set of cards Keva. My favourite is the last one - that colour combo just hits the right spot with me. Now I've got to put in a complaint though. Will you guys stop using SU stuff that I can't get hold of here in the UK!!! That embossing folder is fab - I would love that. Um maybe ebay - off to check!

Now for your cards.....I love the little polka dots on your butterfly and that awesome frame on the first card. The second card is amazing with that SU embossing folder (I HAVE to buy it). And finally that third card, is fantastic with all the bling and plaid!
