Courage and Dreams

Hi everyone. Quick post today. I want to show you two cards I made last night. I'm not a fan of either, really, but something about them appeals to me. They're not my usual style, but I suppose that's okay from time to time, right? I am using the sketch from this week's Mojo Monday challenge, seen here:

And here are my cards:

What do you think? I'm just not sure about them. The first one has a funky vibe to it. Both cards use the same patterned paper from Cosmo Cricket, but on the first one I sprayed it with Glimmer Mist to get that copper effect. I don't know. I am not convinced that they're okay. I'm in a kind of funk or something. Missing hubby a lot and I found myself crying on my new paper! Eek! I've got to pull it together. We still 4+ months before he comes home. :(

Well that's it. I've got to get in the shower so I won't be late for work. Thanks for stopping in..and I hope you have a lovely Tuesday.

Stamps: Blue Skies (Verve)
Card Stock: Ocean Tides, Black, and Pure Poppy (papertrey)
Ink: Versamark and black embossing powder (su)
Extras: Grosgrain ribbon, butterfly die (su); Bling (want2scrap); Glimmer Mist

I think both of these are fabulous!! I love how you switched up the colors but used the same patterned paper. The butterfly/flourish on the first one is beautiful. I'm sorry you are missing your husband (is he deployed?) :( Hang in there ((((hugs)))

I'm so sorry to here that you are missing your hubby so! I like both of your cards and the space under the curve just looked to me like a perfect place to put the sentiment! I love how you ruffled your ribbon to follow the curve too! I hope you have a better day!

Hi Keva,

Your cards are beautiful, but I especially love your first card with the hot pink and black. It's stunning! It's funny, I was about to make a card with those two colours for my niece for her Sweet 16th birthday next week. I may have to borrow a couple of your ideas! Thanks for the inspiration! :)

Keva, there's nothing wrong with having a cry every once in a while. Praying that the 4 months fly until you're family's back together again. {hugs}

I absolutely love the way you used the same layout, but each card has such a distinct feel. The paper on the second one is gorgeous. The funky ribbon looks fab with the blingy flourish.
