Happy Birthday, Mum!

Happy Saturday everyone! We got snow here in TN. That's a not so normal thing for this time of year. We usually only get this in February and it's usually ice and it's usually just one day..lol. This season, however, the kids have had several snow days and I'm thinking they will be out on Monday and Tuesday because more is expected. This isn't Chicago...we get out of school for very little amounts. :)  Of course, the issue is that in our county, there are lots of back roads and things and if one can't get to school, none of us can! I grew up here and loved it then and still love it now for my daughter. :)

Ok, so on to today's card. My mum's birthday is next Saturday. We're going to take her to Stoney River and also for mani-pedi's and massages. I cannot wait!  Her favorite color is yellow..it's also one of my least favorite colors. It has taken me a couple of days to wrap my head around actually using the color on my card, though I knew I had to do it. I decided to work with the first Verve sketch for this month, seen here:

It just screamed at me to use it and I love love love the long cards. I don't make them so much, but when I do it's always fun.  I am also playing along with the Moxie Fab "Grey is the new Black" challenge. We were to use grey in an innovative way. Well, I love the grey and yellow that I see everywhere. I even bought a grey and yellow pillow, though I have no grey and yellow in the house..lol. It was just too cute to leave at the store. :)

So, here is the card that resulted from the challenge marriage (haha):

It was a fun card to make and I just love my Prima felt flowers. They're so pretty. I used a couple of different SU embossing folders on the grey portions of the card. It was fun to mix them up a bit. Well, that's all I have for now. Come back tomorrow for my OTWC challenge card. Thanks for stopping by..have a great weekend!
