hello there

Hey there! I am so sick today. I think my body just was not ready for trips to the county fair then standing for four hours to see my boys!! (One Direction!) They never disappoint. I had a summer cold when I went, but now it is full on flu mode. I'm just miserable. Anyway, here is a card a I made a couple of days ago for the Verve week 2 sketch. Here is my card -

I really like the colors scheme. More designer paper in the stash. :O

Here is the sketch we were to follow.

Thanks for stopping by. Now time for more cold meds and Ambien.

Anniversary Wishes..

Hi everyone! It's Monday and time for the Mojo Monday challenge. I love these because they make me think outside of my little sketch box. I used some stamps that ordered from Verve n Friday - and they came today. Seriously...are you kidding me? I have never had that kind of turn around on anything I bought. Anyway, the sets I bought were On Occasion and Poppy Birthday along with the matching dies. great stamps. Anyway, I wanted to make a card that was a little different. Something maybe a little rustic or just quirky. Either way, this is the card that came out:

I just think it's a little different. I had really been wanting to use that "wooden" paper., but never really had anything to match. I matched it with the SU Strawberry Slush and loved it.

Here is the Mojo Monday Sketch, by the way!

Thanks for stopping in!!

Thought of you today....

Happy Saturday everyone! We have the county fair in town, so we went last night and had a great time. Fair food = yum! :)

Today, I have another card for this week's Freshly Made Sketches. I just love the sketch. I used some great designer paper I found in a stash I have had for a couple of years. It matched perfectly with the SU Strawberry Slush (which may just be my favorite color ever!) and the PapertreyInk Lemon Tart - another favorite. I just adore this card. The sentiment is also from SU. The butterfly is an older Verve die. Anyway, here is my card:

And here, again, is the sketch:

Well, that's that. I hope you're having a wonderful Saturday!

be whoever you want to be...

Hey there. I have a card for this week's Colour Q challenge #254. The colors are so vibrant, and I immediately thought of this old Market Street stamp set that I loved. I'm pretty sure they're out of business now (since I cannot find a website - but let me know if I am wrong). So, here is the card I made:

And here are the colors for this week.

Thanks for stopping in. Check out the challenge and play along! Their is always a lot of inspiration!

I think you can!

Well, good morning to everyone! I have a full day ahead of me, but I still managed to get a quick card in for this week's Freshly Made Sketch and also the colors from this week's Color Throwdown. It's a really neat design with such vibrant colors from the ladies at CTD. Here is a quick card I made for it.

And here is the sketch:

And the color scheme:

I just love the little Papertrey Train Track's set. I don't use it a whole lot, but it is a fun set. There is a little boy having some trouble in school, so I think this will be in the mail today on it's way to him! :)

Signing off...

Who's Counting?

Hey, i'm back with a card for the Moxie Fab challenge this week. As soon as I saw the clock, I knew that I was going to use "time" and the hexagons somehow. That was the first thing I saw. Here is the card:

Sweet Sunday wish

Hey everyone! Today I am playing along with the Sweet Sunday Sketch..I think for the first time! The sketch was really cool. I ordered banners from SU last week, but they won't be until tomorrow, so I just made my own..haha. I really liked the colors together..so bright and all.

Here is the sketch my card is based. I think I could make cards using this sketch all day long. The possibilities are endless.

Well, that's it. I'll see you soon with new stuff. Hope you like it..and don't forget to follow me!

Dear True Love..

Hi All! Today's card isn't for any challenge. I saw the paper in my stack of papers and thought it was too pretty NOT to use. It's a very linen looking paper that I really couldn't get to pick up on screen, unfortunately. : ) Here is the card:

Have you guys heard this song - Dear True Love by Sleeping at Last? Oh, I love love love it. I go to sleep to music each night and this is on my "sandman" playlist. It's such a beautiful song. That gave me a little of the inspiration for this card with all of the "true loves" as the sentiment. Let me see if I can link to it...

Ok....I think it worked!

Sincere thanks..

Hello! Boy, it's been good to be creating again. Just feeling creative has really lifted me out of the funk of not working.  I am pretty sure, though, I have that job I applied for. They seem to like me, so we shall see.
The sketch is lovely with too many possibilities. Since I am trying to learn to sometimes keep it simple, I came up with a really quick card. It was fun to just not over think a card. Just have a person in mind and make something they would enjoy instead of what I would enjoy, ya know? Anyway, so without further ado here is my card:

I played along with the ladies over at  Freshly Made sketches using this weeks sketch:

Thanks for stopping by. Have a great weekend. I'll be back tomorrow with someything new...maybe. :)

Hello Friend

Hi! Well, we have completed the first full week of school and, just let me say that kids are funny. No matter what grade they are in, they can find something wrong with school. :)

Anyway, I made this card for this weeks Retro Sketch challenge, seen here:

It felt so CAS, which is a challenge for me because I always want to add "just one more thing"...haha. I think it came out pretty well, though.

Have a great weekend and hope to see you soon! Thanks for stopping in.

A little birdie..

Hey there! Hope you're having a good week. I have an interview today for a job, so I am excited/nervous about that. Wish me luck!

Anyhow, I made this card for Lori Tecler who is starting to teach Kindergarten this year. How exciting. I have always thought it would be fun to teach Kindergarten or first grade. So, here is my card..

I used the latest Mojo Monday challenge

and the latest Color Throwdown challenge

I just love these colors together and the sketch was perfect because I wanted to add a little gift to the card. The seed packet die was perfect for that. It seems to work better for me than the regular gift card die. The sentiment is from the Verve set Chicks Rule. I love that little set!

Well, that's all I have today. Be sure and stop by the Color Throwdown AND Mojo Monday to participate in the challenges. There is still lots of time left.

Thanks for stopping by!

Make it Monday Rock

Hi! I'm back again to enter this weeks Make it Monday challenge over on Nichole Heady's blog. The challenge was to create a border using a non-border die. Let me just tell you there are about 10 "cards" in the garbage trying to make this work...lol. I watched the video over and over and finally think I pulled it off using the Rock On mini stamp set. What do you think?

I decided to emboss the guitars to give them a more rock star feel.

Thanks for stopping by!

New Home

Hi everyone! Have I been gone for a while or what? So many things have happened the last year or so. I lost my job last May, so it's been a bummer not having that second income, ya know? I've also just been away from stamping even though I had the time. I guess I didn't have the motivation or desire, but I think I've got my mojo back. I just bought some new Papertrey and Stampin' Up stuff. I can't wait for it to arrive. So tell me...what new stamp companies are out there. I'm so out of the loop.

Anyhow, today's card is one I made for my cousins housewarming party today. I thought the keys and lock images from the Papertrey Lock and Key stamp set would be perfect. I think it came out pretty well.

Hopefully, I'll get into some challenges in the next coupe of days so I can get my brain going again. See you soon and thanks for coming by!
